Peace and quiet affordable housing, not far from the city.

Came across this suburb when we were looking for our first house and found it had everything we needed. With the addition of the upcoming super school and the newly landscaped and refitted park/recreation facilities nearby it would make a great place for any family to live while servicing all the needs of student living as well. Nearby shopping complex could do with an upgrade but otherwise okay.

Pooraka has numerous parks and is a very green and well maintained suburb, I catch the bus to uni every day and have never had a problem with public transport. it has very few shops, but Ingle farm shopping centre is just around the corner with ample choice and Tea Tree Plaza isn't that far to drive with hundreds of shops. Or if you need home living products, home HQ gepps cross is literally around the corner. Pooraka is a very friendly suburb and I always feel safe living here. It has a massive recreational park, (I have never seen a park as well equipped as this park in a metro suburb), with lake, child enclosed playground, dog park (enclosed) bike ramp and skate park all on South Terrace. The butcher on desmond terrace always has cheap meat! and I feel like I'm selling the suburb. lol. anyway, I like it.

Pooraka has more than a few negative factors - lack of shops, lack of schools, lack of bus services, and lots of hoon drivers in the area for instance.
