High Above Sea Level. Close to everyhing - quick walk to shops. Plenty of egris points - no traffic jams here or one road in and out. Best suburb in whole area.

"A hidden Gem"

We made the move to Karana Gardens, Chuwar having lived in Kenmore before that. Was a little worried about being 'so far out' but wow am I glad that we made the move. Our acerage is absolutely lovely. Streets are safe and clean. Kids can be kids here. Its close enough to town (only 10 minutes from Riverlink) to have all modern conveniences on hand but far enough away to feel like you are in a little paradise. Only 2 minutes down the road there is a Woolies, bakery, hardward shop, doctor for local convinience. The kids are still going to school in Kenmore as its only just over 15 minutes away....and the high school bus services the suburb. Colleges crossing is 2 minutes away and what a lovely park for a sunday morning breakfast sizzle. This is definately the best kept secret in the western suburbs!

"Long term resident - first time reviewer"

Chuwar is a very quiet, peaceful suburb. Here is a list of pros and cons.

There isn't many food places/restaurants here to choose from. You have a choice of the bakery or 2 take-away burger joints.
(why can't they at least have Subway!?)
The fruit shop closed recently (not enough business)
The only supermarket is Woolworths
The streets are very safe though, and quiet. I can't hear heavy traffic.
The crime rate is low
You CANNOT get ADSL2 in the area
There is NO public transport available (except school bus)
The neighbours keep to themselves and most of them work all day
I have not heard loud music or parties in my street (which is great!)
There are no department stores, just a liquor store, bank, dentist, medical centre, video ezy, hardware store, real estate, Woolworths, newsagency, bakery, pharmacy etc

We enjoy living in Chuwar, the rent is a bit high but apart from that it's a family-friendly suburb designed for working families.

"Quiet, leafy, private acreage"

We have been residents of Karana Gardens located in Chuwar for over 18 years, having come from suburbia in Logan city it was a breath of fresh air to come to Chuwar. We had planned on staying for 10 years however when the 10 years were up we couldn't find an area that compared with the convenience to work, shopping centres, schools, sports facilities and with the same level of quietness, privacy and with an affordable price to match. From our experience living in Chuwar we have found quite a few people who who have been long term residents. The most appealing feature of chuwar is the privacy and quietness of the area. The traffic that comes through the Karana Gardens Estate is mostly local traffic with the occasional sight seer, you feel like your in a little pocket out of most peoples way.
