Reviews of Cook, ACT
"So central!"
Cook is a great suburb. It is very central (ie towards the middle of Canberra) with highways radiating out from it. It is 10 mins to the City, 5 mins to Belconnen and 15 mins to Woden by car. There are two lakes nearby (Lakes Burley Griffin and Ginninderra), and many bush/parkland reserves within easy walking distance. The Jamison Shopping Centre has a Coles and an Aldi, and many restaurants/cafes. It is also quite close to the University of Canberra and the Australian National University (ie within cycling distance). Mount Painter, Black Mountain, and the Arboretum are also nearby.

"Discover It for Yourself"
Cook is located 6kms west north west of Canberra. It has a local kindergarten but no local primary or high schools. However, they are only 5 minutes away. It has a ballet school, which is excellent. Cook has a small local shopping centre with a small independent supermarket. Major retailers are around 10 minutes away in Belconnen. It has a multicultural feel with around 30% of its people having been born overseas. It is a nice peaceful area in which to raise a family.
