Reviews of Dittmer, QLD
"A place with a past and a future"
Kelsey Creek is a picturesque area 17km's SW of Proserpine & 32km's SW of Airlie Beach. It has green mountains over 700m's high, relaxing creeks, a historical mining town to explore and much more. The area is mainly used for cane farming at present but has exceptional potential with many cane farmers deciding to sell their cane farms due to them getting to old to work. With all this extra cane farming land available in such a stunning and beautiful area who wouldn't sub-divide into residential blocks?
Kelsey Creek is also in easy reach of all facilties and attractions of the world famous Whitsundays. You can do something different every day such as take a drive to the Peter Faust Dam, play golf or a number of sports in Proserpine, or visit the Lagoon in Airlie Beach.
Most people have lived in the area for many years and are very friendly. The occasional welcoming party is held to welcome new residents to the area.
The climate is reasonable. It gets to about 31c every day during summer and is very humid with abundant rainfall. During winter it gets to about 22c with beautiful clear skies and a brisk wind. The mountains are often shrouded in cloud/fog during summer and the summits are rarely visible. But in winter they are visible every day. The highest mountain is Mt Quandong at 805m.
So if you love the Whitsundays and are looking for a place to develop or buy then Kelsey Creek is definitely the place for you.
