Reviews of Ferndale, WA
"Usually quiet, but under the flight path"
Lived there about 1 and half years.
Pros: generally a quiet suburb, close to the Carousel and riverton shopping centers.
Cons: under flight path, be mind of the flight noise.

"Space and quiet, surrounded by nature."
We are very impressed with our new home and suburb. Within minutes we are next to the river in national park, sitting in a cafe overlooking water or in huge shopping mall with everything. On top of that, I'm only 6km from my work place (Curtin Uni) and can ride my bike on pathways all the way.

Hi Sarah, yes, it is the site of the old Kinlock Primary School and is due for redevelopment (http://www.openingdoorswa.com.au ). Cheers, Paul
Hi Paul, do you know much about Camelia Court in Ferndale, How is this street?
Hi Jake, very nice! Walking distance (over the river) to Carousel Shopping Centre and many shops but also loads of open spaces and walks. Ferndale really is an up-and-coming suburb with a great primary school (Bannister Creek). Let me know if you want more info, but I would highly recommend it.
Do you have any idea about Latham street. I am looking to buy in Allure Estate. How that area is?
Hi, I heard there was a new development on the old school grounds that looks good. But Ferndale has a lot to offer, especially if you have kids. Whole new family play area on Ferndale Flats being built, and as I said to Jake - great school (our daughter goes there and we're really happy).
Thanks Paul!
Hi Paul, I just read your answers and find you are very helpful :). How do you rate 'Ferndale Crescent'? Is that good? Thanks in advance
Hi Sakshi, I think Ferndale Crescent would be a really nice place to live, overlooking the parkland. Great if you have kids :-) Also, the council has recently upgraded the road to make it safer and more attractive.
Hi Paul, my wife,my daughter and I are going to move to Perth from Sydney . Do you know much about Blancoa st ,Ferndale at all? ,is it a nice st and neighbourhood to live ? And how about Curtin University? Is there a bus that can catch to that uni?. Thank you for your info and much appreciated.

"Awesome suburb!"
Ferndale is a great suburb to live in, it is quiet, clean and feels like a really safe neighbourhood. It is only a few minutes from the westfield carousel mall or riverton forum mall if you need to go shopping and it's not too far to drive to perth cbd. It has excellent primary schools, clean and beautiful parks for the kids to play at and good coffee shops, restaurants etc are only a stones throw away. It's an awesome suburb, we won't be leaving anytime soon!

"Magic escape from the city"
The canning river reserve is absolutely magic, the city just disappears, invisible to the eye as the wildlife around the river makes itself known. Ducks, Darters, Spoonbills, Coots and a host of other waterbirds make the river their home. Make sure to spend some time canoeing along the river and keep a look out for the nests of the waterbirds that are in the trees along the edge.
A short walk to Carousel at the east and Riverton Forum at the western side of the suburb, means there is plenty of choice for shopping and eating.
A small suburb that is missed by many and enjoyed by the few fortunate to have found it.

"affordable to rent and buy, good resale value, if you do up your house to suit modern tastes"
Close to city only 10kms, 5 minutes drive to Vic Park for excellent food, pubs and shopping. Ferndale is convenient to have Carousel, Riverton Forum and lots and lots of shops along Albany Hwy. Cons, is that Albany Highway is busy on peak traffic....but there is always High Road. Good access to busses and train station. Close to Roe Hwy and not too far from Freeway. Lot's of parkland and river for recreation...etc...Although I would like to see more off leash, better quality parkland for dogs.

Hi Paul, do you know what the big open space is next to the Lynwood Christian Church? On Latham Rd? Cheers
