Fisher, ACT 2611

My grandparents built in Fisher in 1970 and I spent my childhood playing in the area, leap-frogging over concrete barriers, playing cooee in the underpasses, climbing trees and exploring the playgrounds. As an adult I was given the chance to buy our family home, which is where I now live with my young family. Its a wonderful community focused Canberra suburb, unique in that it has no thoroughfare, all traffic is local traffic, many of the residents are the original owners, and there are lots of young families calling Fisher home. Proximity to the city is fantastic, local shops are great, and its a wonderful place to live.

Fisher is 11 kms south west of Canberra. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area for those looking for a nice night out. However, nightlife in the way of clubs is a bit lacking. It has plenty of parklands close by. There are great schools in the area. The access to public transport could be improved. Overall it is a great place to raise a family as it is a place where the grandparents can be close by.
