"An inaccessible & hazardous cesspool"
It might look good on social media, but that's the visitor view. There's nothing redeeming here but there IS an unexplainable weird feeling one gets spending any amount of time in Hideaway Bay or "Hydeaway Bay" as it's known to locals and plenty of whispers... Blocks of land have sat vacant for 4 decades FOR A REASON!!! Not to mention it's completely neglected by the Whitsunday Regional Council. The deadliest wildlife in every form is the topping on this bogan sundae. 1/2 of a 1/2 star.
"Why would you live any where else when Hideaway Bay has it all"
Hideaway Bay is only 30 minutes on a fully sealed road to all of the tourist activities, dining and nightlife of Airlie Beach and then you come back to your piece of heaven to snorkeling in the bay with some great coral. A beautifull beach with very few people on it the sounds of the lorrikets and kokkaburras.
This is not just for retires there is a school bus to take the kids to Proserpine, we have tennis courts and recreational club house a caravan park with store, and really friendly people.
Dingo Beach is only 5 minutes away with a pub and store and restaurant and you have Cape Gloucester Resort and Montes Resort to eat out.
WE have our own water tanks and have to take our rubbish to the dump but that can be a social occasion in it self. Go for a holiday and rent one of the houses and you will want to live there get away from the hectic world and enjoy all that Hideaway has to offer, breath in the fresh air and smell the ocean. Its sensational. from Liz
