Reviews of Highbury, SA
"Nice vibe by the river"
Feels accessible, yet country and safe in the lineal park, just as it opens up into the hills. Up and coming suburb with newer homes and friendly people.

"Best thing is the linear track"
It is a beautiful area particularly near the river, however buyer beware. There are a lot of termite infested houses and a lot of structural problems. Also the tea tree gully council rates are very expensive. My current house in the mitcham council area is worth a lot more but my rates are a lot cheaper and to be quite honest I get better services for less. High bury is very hilly and there are a lack of footpaths in the suburbs.
Great for
- Fresh air
- Peaceful
Not great for
- Expensive council rates
- Hilly
- More footpaths

"Lovely feel to the suburb"
Lovely suburb with lots of established trees, views to the city and hills, next to walking trails along linear park and the river torrens. We moved in about 6 months ago and have never had such friendly neighbours who all maintain their house and gardens really well. Close to O-Bahn transport and TTP but also not too far to drive into the city.

"Lovely leafy Highbury"
Highbury is a beautiful leafy suburb north east of Adelaide, in the foothills.
Most properties offer magnificent views, but with that does come sloping blocks. Nonetheless, this would make most properties all the more interesting with their landscape designs.
With Linear Park on your doorstep (if you like to walk the dog, go for a jog or ride your bike) and Westfield Tea Tree Plaza just around the corner for retail therapy, a number of public and private schools for the kids and the Obahn buses picking up along Lower Nth East Road (a great way to travel to the city in 15 mins)....all your needs are covered.
There are great pubs locally and nearby in Modbury and Tea Tree Gully plus some fabulous restaurants like, Ruby Raja (Indian), Amore, Assagio, Va Bene (Italian) Simply Thai plus all the usual take away outlets.
I have lived in Highbury for 6 years and absolutetly love it!!!

"parks, schools and some lovely homes"
Up lower northeast road, Highbury is well and truly into the foothills. For me it is a lovely area but I grew up in the foothills down south. There are well established gums, linear park is close by and there are plenty of other parks around.
There are plenty of nice family homes on good sized blocks around Highbury, but it’s not for anyone that will have trouble with steeper slopes. Homes are often on split levels being built on hills so it’s not the ideal retirement spot for retirees. However, good sized blocks and a history of families make it the ideal spot for family living.
Tea Tree Plaza isn't too far away and there are plenty of other shops near by. It is a well established area.
It’s a reasonable trip into the city but it’s not far from the Obahn making the trip in on public transport probably quicker than taking the car. It’s easy to get down to the city.
Nightlight is limited out here but it’s a family area. There are some places to get out and eat.
A great place for young families
