"A lovely country town"
With a small population of a few hundred people. Hivesville is a relaxed quiet country town consisting of the Hivesville Hotel, Hivesville Fuel and Food Service station which has a convenience store, mail collection plus PO Boxes and a laundromat. There is a small church, sports oval and the Hivesville division of CWA. The Hivesville Markets are on the last Sunday of each month . Hivesville is a rural town in the South Burnett Region, the town was named Hivesville, after George Hives, a pioneer
