Reviews of Kippa-ring, QLD
"Crime and violence"
I moved to this suburb during COVID from closer to the city and not too long after, immediately regretted. This suburb is full of crime. Fights at the shopping centre. Cars getting broken into. Abuse at the train station.
It's particularly bad close to Fleet Drive or the townhouses on Elizabeth Avenue. These parts seem to resemble Deception Bay East much more than nicer parts of the Peninsula like Scarborough. Margate, Clontarf and Rothwell can also be bad (lots of public housing).
"Close to everything - a few weirdos"
Kippa-Ring is a nice central spot in Redcliffe, I enjoyed living here close to the shopping centre but it does lack the nicety of the cafe's & restaurants that you get at Redcliffe. Nevermind, its just a 5 minute drive. Not a bad place, handy to all - a few people to avoid, otherwise great.

"Pick very carefully"
We just moved from interstate to Kippa-Ring, heard mostly postive things about it. Unfortunately in the townhouse complex we rent there are some very sketchy people and a lot of screaming matches, and threats of violence. Walking around the neighbourhood near us there is broken glass in the park, most houses have security shutters down all the time and rarely does anyone smile and say hello when walking by.
Of course this is in the area we live in, there do seem to be some lovely places around Kippa-Ring, but you have to be very careful where you pick.
After living here for a few weeks we are already looking at moving as it is quite scary.
I suspect that this is the Fleet Drive area.
All other parts of Kippa-Ring are peaceful and quiet.
How far away should you look at? Is Southwell street too close. ?
what areas are we to avoid in this Kippa-Ring suburb if anyone can help name some streets to avoid? Thank you.
What are the townhouses like on Elizabeth Ave???
"Close to decent shops, beach and transport."
It's the suburb which is 10mins away from everything.
10 mins walk to the shops
10 mins drive to the beach
10 min walk to the train station
Without being in the hustle and bustle of the city but still getting what you in need at the right price.
Check it out, it's only getting better.

"Close to Beaches, Shops and Transport"
Affordable area, only five minutes from a number of beaches on the Redcliffe Peninsula. Quick drive or walk to key needs like:
- Shopping Centre
- Industrial needs (vehicle/boat/Tradelink and Reece/Coffee Roasters etc)
- Medical/ Vet
- Bunnings, Harvey Norman etc (Rothwell)
- Train station (from late 2016)
- Large fully fenced dog-park
Very quiet area, and friendly neighbours.

I love the daily commute to the City, it takes me about 50mins door to door. Free wifi, lots of seats and $6.25 each way. Free parking at the train station too.
"Hardly ever home? This is a place for You!"
If you are hardly ever home, and Kippa Ring is close to your work than that would be the only thing that would draw me to this suburb. Kippa Ring is the suburb everyone cuts through to get to Redcliffe, Scarborough and the City. There is no rail line so you must rely soley on buses and taxis for public transport. Although it is close to beach if you like to spend time relaxing on the sand with the not so favouable smelly seawater splashing at your feet. Or the man made lagoon, which the Council often neglects to maintain properly. There are certainly nicers areas to live in than Kippa Ring. It would not even come into my top 10.

I live in Kippa-Ring its one of my favorite place...
Hi emmas 36, im not going to name names exactly as it turns out of the complex of 90+ townhouses a couple of sections were quiet and farly normal, but the ones furtherest away form the managment office were extremely feral. All I can say is have a good look at whats around, dont sign anythng before having time to properly inspect the place and spend a bit of time just listening in nearby street. Even strike up a conversation with a shopkeeper etc nearby and say where your living and watch their reaction. When told anyone where we were living the stories they had 'heard from a freind etc' were pretty phenominal, so it has a reputation. Overall we would not move back to Kippa Ring, even if the rent was free.
