"Too expensive"

To Nashtu. I think you actually never go to any of the listed sites on Realestate.com.au. Actually I went to this property and found the price for 300,000 plus a steal and bought it. Hope you have fun with you reviews from you bedroom.

tartar

are you kidding?

JadeT

Nashtu, saying too expensive... ahhh... what are you comparing to? You are not serious, right? Just go to realestate.com and check the prices and suburb's profile. Try to find a comparative property with the same price just in next door in Sunnybank or Eight Mile Plains! If you find any then you can say 'too expensive'.

Well, perhaps it's not the right suburb for "A" to live then. Hopefully "A"s found himself somewhere that welcomes people that can't even form a complete sentence while bagging a suburb.

I was just wondering as to why you don't think Russell Island is a place for familys?? Me and my partner have been looking there for a place to buy once we have the finances, and we want to start a family.

casal

Russell Island is a wonderful environment to raise a family as there is plenty of open space, no pollution, not much traffic, public swimming pool, excellent primary school (and free boat/bus transport to high school), adequate shops, library. I am sure you'd like living here. We have an excellent property for sale within walking distance of all the facilities and jetty.

jessysnlove

Hey another question what kind of medical facililties are there on Russell island, as me and my partner wish to have a baby, is there any place on the island that i could go when giving birth??

casal

no birthing facility - no small community should have that. But we have 2 doctors and Ambulance service with Paramedic 24/7. Transport to hospital is either by ambulance/boat/ambulance for non-life threatening cases or helicopter for code 1 cases.

jessysnlove

What is the mobile reception like over there? and is there internet conection?

jessysnlove

oh and is there any town water or is there only tanks?

casal

town water for about 20 years

casal

ADSL or broadband (free for some areas as subsidised by Federal Government) internet & mobile coverage to about 99% of Island. Optus worse provider

jessysnlove

thanks for all your help, hopefully i will be moving there beggining of next year if all goes to plan and i get that job. I wont have to worry about this for a while but is there only the primary school over there, and no high school?

casal

not enough children to build a high school and Education Dept think it is better for children to integrate with mainland children....................Good luck with your move

jessysnlove

Hey, would it be possible if i could have a list of the bussiness's on the Island?

casal

you're joking!!
I don't have the time to type a list nor do I know all the registered names. Check Yellow Pages under 'Russell Island', IGA, 'Canaipa"

Hi, We are moving to Russell Island soon from Stradbroke Island but when I tried to change our internet over, Telstra said that Russell has no ADSL internet but i just noticed the comment above ...
"ADSL or broadband (free for some areas as subsidised by Federal Government) internet & mobile coverage to about 99% of Island. Optus worse provider".
I was just wondering if the person I spoke to at Telstra may have it wrong? Is there ADSL on Russell and if not what do people use? Or is Russell Island's ADSL through another provider or something like that? Thank you for any advice you can offer.

There is no broadband down the southern end. My neighbours and I are all on satellite.

Mitchelton

"Too far out for the amount that you have to pay"

0
mitchiuk

The fact that the prices are relatively high is a good indicator that people disagree that it is too far out. i have lived in serveral world cities and visited many more. Would not swap Mitchelton with any other place . Great for families, great community and neighbourhood. Comments in relation to traffic are overstated. How many places in the world can you drive into cbd work off peak in 12minutes. Peak in 25 mns. Mount Nebo and glrious in 20minutes . Sunshine coast in under an hour. if you cant hack sitting 25 minutes in a car to go to work in the cbd during peak . you can spend 20 minutes on a train. or get up earlier and finish earlier
it appears strange that the detractors of mitchelton dont seem to live there. comments about traffic, being too far out etc - are not things you will find anybody in mitcheton complaining about.

In what way does the desal plant effect you? Do you live near it?

Taylor77

This coming from someone who thinks Toowong is excellent, hahaha, that place is full of freaks & weirdos!!!! Tugun & Burleigh are AMAZING Gold Coast suburbs, you've obviously got no idea at all Nashtu.

chilli

You must live in Tugun Street and must go to bed mighty early to be bothered by the 6 small planes that go over after around 7 pm. The desal plant? I live in the closest street to the plant and and it just looks like a big (granted, ugly) warehouse. Anyone who lives in Tugun is blessed with easy access to beautiful beaches, convenient access to shopping, the M1 to Brisbane, Northern NSW, the Airport, the rest of the GC and more open space than anywhere else I have seen on the GC.
