Morpeth, NSW 2321

I moved to Morpeth 8 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did! The town is beautiful, historic, clean, green and peaceful. There is strong community here and the people are always friendly and helpful. There are cafes, shops, restaurants, chemists, medical centres and pubs all within easy walking distance where you'll always be served with a smile and a chat. Fish, kayak or water ski on the Morpeth River or relax in the local parks. The only downside would be the high property prices.

I visited Morpeth on a day trip while I was holidaying in Nelson bay (about 70 km away) and I’m glad I did!
You could be walking down the street 100 years ago time has just stood still in this old world village.
The shops where amazing old toy stores, lolly stores, wine store, antique store bakery etc... the history oozes from the old sandstone buildings even the gutters in the streets are sandstone!

Famous businesses also started out in Morpeth as it was a thriving trade centre in the early and mid 1800’s most notably Soul Patterson Chemists and Arnott’s biscuits.
We went on a horse drawn cart ride through the main streets in town with a lovely German settler named Dieter who stoped and told us of the rich history behind each significant building and landmark.
“Juliet” the 11 year old Clydesdale horse presented an image of yesteryear roaming the streets and the sound of her enormous hoofs pounding the pavement added to the atmosphere and experience.
As a tourist attraction i give this place 10 out of 10!! JUST GO!!
