I sold because of the jet noise after more than 20 years of living here. I dont see things getting better only worse. The adjoining airport is getting busier with more flights and the RAAF base is getting upgraded for more flights. Sick of getting woken up from aeroplanes that move the ground like an earthquake.

not sure who's brillant idea was to build a suburb on a military RAAF base and airport. The fighter jets and airplanes have been flying everyday the last few months and its causing me serious mental health problems. Do not move to this suburb, there are only going to be more jets and planes especially because it is also the primary commercial airport for Darwin.

Its a nice spot if you are into golf and have a property that backs the golf course. BUT all you hear all day and night are planes taking off and landing. You can feel the house vibrate and the noise is relentless even more so when RAAF play their war games. Darwin airport is an active military air base and Northlakes is built exactly at the sweetspot where the airplanes hit the gas at take off. The leafy trees wont protect you from the noise and all they do it feed the abundance of termites. Constantly having to fix broken solar panels from rogue balls and balls in the pool.
