"Overrated"

Middle of nowhere, far to travel to work. Have to drive everywhere. No train station nearby. It's great if you love being at home most of the time.

"So much to love about Oran Park"

Oran Park is a unique suburb with a perfect blend of beautiful homes, schools, amenities, restaurants and parks! Love seeing my children grow up in such a great suburb and someone who travels a lot for work, I'm excited for the new Western Sydney Airport to open 15 min away!

"Beautiful suburb for families"

Bought a property here two years ago and the family and I have loved everything about it, from the parks, the schools and the convenience of the podium shopping centre. Great neighbours and great sense of community.

"Great for families"

Oran Park has come such a long way in the past 10+ years. The new extension to Oran Park Podium shopping center has added such a great central location to the suburb for access to services, shopping and socialisation. It’s a community orientated suburb and a safe community for lots of young growing families. Oran Park is continuing to grow with new Hotels, Aquatic centers, restaurants, fast food outlets, just to name a few.

"Good for young families"

Good area for young families buying their first home (house prices range from cheap to well over a mil) plenty of well maintained parks and close enough to all amenities just you do need your own vehicle: good investment as the area will rocket once everything is established just atm it’s a bit far from major venues: seems to be equally owner occupied and rented, most properties are well maintained by both just being a relatively new area it’s fairly condensed which unless you’ve been living on acres isn’t really an issue: I’ve heard of issues with crime but never first hand and I do have more than a few high end classic vehicles that would attract thieves, it’s no worse than anywhere nowadays and imho it’s not locals, I’d be pointing to the other side of the freeway: I bought my house off my youngest and her husband in 2017 (it’s 2021 now) If you don’t like the city and rarely go there or head up the north coast and prefer south it’s a good location, the Wollongong beaches are an easy drive as is heading south to most anywhere.

"Way too far from city"

I love the suburb but it’s way too far from Sydney CBD. No good schools in Oran Park

I don't know what do you mean by "no good schools in Oran Park". I can only talk about Barramurra Primary School at OP which is an excellent school. The teachers are so dedicated to the students. There is no time limit, they may be sending or correcting online activities the children submit at 7 or 8 pm. The school Principal used to do the job of the Lollipop man at the school pedestrian crossing. There are 2 or three teachers at the door every morning greeting every child by their names. I am comparing that school and teachers to the ones my children attended (Catholic Schools where I was paying good money). They've never had the attention and dedication children have at Barramurra Primary School.

"Lots of crimes and breakins"

I have been in Oran Park for almost 5 years now and lots of developments in the area including business towers and new parks. Recently, everyday lots of breakins and robberies happening in the area. Lots of low life people and housing commission are moving to this suburb. Smashed cars, robbery and breakins...It’s going to be a sh**h*** like Claymore. And the worst thing is, no police station in the area!

I've been a resident of the area for 4 years. There is no housing commission in the area. I believe there is a lot of development going on in the area, but due to public transport or untrusty people visiting. Just like any place you need to keep an eye out for your neighbours. If you feel that a police station would be of importance, as the closets is located at Narellan. I would suggest raising this with the local council.

There is no police station in the OPT and the closest are 10km away! Good on you if you see no crime in the area but if you have a look to the OPT community FB at least you might have some idea.
