Reviews of Oran Park, NSW
"Great for families"
Oran Park has come such a long way in the past 10+ years. The new extension to Oran Park Podium shopping center has added such a great central location to the suburb for access to services, shopping and socialisation. It’s a community orientated suburb and a safe community for lots of young growing families. Oran Park is continuing to grow with new Hotels, Aquatic centers, restaurants, fast food outlets, just to name a few.

"Good for young families"
Good area for young families buying their first home (house prices range from cheap to well over a mil) plenty of well maintained parks and close enough to all amenities just you do need your own vehicle: good investment as the area will rocket once everything is established just atm it’s a bit far from major venues: seems to be equally owner occupied and rented, most properties are well maintained by both just being a relatively new area it’s fairly condensed which unless you’ve been living on acres isn’t really an issue: I’ve heard of issues with crime but never first hand and I do have more than a few high end classic vehicles that would attract thieves, it’s no worse than anywhere nowadays and imho it’s not locals, I’d be pointing to the other side of the freeway: I bought my house off my youngest and her husband in 2017 (it’s 2021 now) If you don’t like the city and rarely go there or head up the north coast and prefer south it’s a good location, the Wollongong beaches are an easy drive as is heading south to most anywhere.

Rentals in Oran Park
Find real estate agents in Oran Park
I don't know what do you mean by "no good schools in Oran Park". I can only talk about Barramurra Primary School at OP which is an excellent school. The teachers are so dedicated to the students. There is no time limit, they may be sending or correcting online activities the children submit at 7 or 8 pm. The school Principal used to do the job of the Lollipop man at the school pedestrian crossing. There are 2 or three teachers at the door every morning greeting every child by their names. I am comparing that school and teachers to the ones my children attended (Catholic Schools where I was paying good money). They've never had the attention and dedication children have at Barramurra Primary School.
"Lots of crimes and breakins"
I have been in Oran Park for almost 5 years now and lots of developments in the area including business towers and new parks. Recently, everyday lots of breakins and robberies happening in the area. Lots of low life people and housing commission are moving to this suburb. Smashed cars, robbery and breakins...It’s going to be a sh**h*** like Claymore. And the worst thing is, no police station in the area!
I've been a resident of the area for 4 years. There is no housing commission in the area. I believe there is a lot of development going on in the area, but due to public transport or untrusty people visiting. Just like any place you need to keep an eye out for your neighbours. If you feel that a police station would be of importance, as the closets is located at Narellan. I would suggest raising this with the local council.
Or Try Local Police Stations are managed by the NSW Government - [email protected]
There is no police station in the OPT and the closest are 10km away! Good on you if you see no crime in the area but if you have a look to the OPT community FB at least you might have some idea.
"Family orientated"
Oran park has a beautiful family vibe, Oran park town centre is the local shops with some great stores and restaurants, I find everyone super helpful kind and the community really supports one another via the social media groups. Everyone really comes together which is lovley, the streets are quiet and the neighbours all look out for one another.

"Newly established suburb"
I moved to Oran Park 12 months ago. Great place for families and young couples. What is planned for the next 24 months for suburb will be amazing. Extended shopping centre, similar to Narellan Shopping Centre with appartments.Metro Train station to be established in the coming years. A Traven is in the process for approval, building of a Water Park is about to start. Commercial Building is getting built now and another Commercial Building will start soon, opportunities for businesses to grow in the area. There is a few schools in the area and more are in the planning stage. There is drawn up plan for employment area near the Northern Road side. All people living in the area are home owners or renters (No housing Commission)Only problem, I find is some non local crazy drivers on the main roads around the area at night.

"Beautiful new place, well planned, lot of gardens and walking trails"
1. It's a newly built suburb and has to feel fresh aroma
2. All houses are well built with hardly any cheap housing or materials, so you get the up market feel
3. Most of the people living there are home owners, very few rented out properties.
4. 3 good schools around with school bus services.
5. Station is planned and approved. So commute will be easy.
6. Mix of all communities, so you never feel left out.
7. With Badgrey Creek airport coming, that will be a hub and bring along thousands of jobs.
8. Wide roads with trees around, very low crime rate, two shopping centres around, nice people, everything you can wish for.

Hi Simranjit, Hows commute to city?
Hi Simranjit, We are planning to purchase house in Oran park, Is it possible if we can have a quick 5 min call to discuss.
Everyone keeps saying airport is coming and itll soon be a hub ? And so what ? If that increases the property prices - Mascot is currently the suburb closest to Airport. Does it mean Mascot is the best suburb or the most expensive suburb. Airport coming is just a selling point used by all the real estate agents
"Good if you work nearby."
We are renting, our house is new and beautiful, no problems at all. I love the wide roads and that shoppings are not overcrowded. There is always somewhere to explore...reserves, botanic gardens, leisure centres, etc. We do grocery shopping at Narellan which is not far and it has everything.
We are also really happy with our toddler's daycare and did not have to wait long time for availability. However, Oran Park is still developing, if you do not work nearby, travelling is too far.

"High density areas, no night life, dry area and far away from everything"
It’s high density suberb. One of my friends made a joke about that, if you run out of shampoo in bath you can grab it from the neighbor’s bathroom! Houses are too close to each one. My husband is an Geotechnical engineer and told,e the newer part of Oran Park has rubbish soil! Almost all houses there(near CamdenVally way) will crack on pavements and walls. BE CAREFUL what you are buying.
It has a small shopping which is going to extend. Still needs lots of work to be a stablished suberb.
