Reviews of Priestdale, QLD
"Brisbane's best acreage secret. Close to everything with peace and quiet!"
I grew up here and truly believe that this pocket is brisbane's best kept secret. The gorgeous rolling hills and perfect peace of acreage living are common place and you don't have to live away from it all. Within only 20mins you can drive to the Ocean and relax by the water at the bayside or jump on a water taxi and make your way to Stradbroke island for an amazing island getaway. Then there is the city which is also 20mins away. Many a time my job would involve a lengthy nightshift in Brisbane's CBD and it was completly surreal to wake up the next morn in a bush setting with the birds chirping and the wind in the trees. To only think I was just in the hustle and bustle of a major city and it was just a short drive away. Getting back to the actual location, Priestdale backs onto Daisy hill forest so even a small acreage parcel here feels like a massive amount of play land when your a kid. We would explore just a few minutes from our fence line and play by a creek setting in the valley it was shallow and safe but gave the surrounds such a shady lush effect on the forest it was like a been in a disney movie, perfect for a tea party or a fort. It's common most of land in Priestdale isn't entirely flat so our backyard easily doubled as a great cricket game or with dad's black plastic rolled out and some dish soap- the best slip n slide ever! A great place to grow up and live. My dad loved the fact he wasn't stuck in traffic very long for the drive to and from work as there is hardly any traffic lights on the way to the hwy. Mum loved the conveinience of driving to Rochedale shops in a few minutes or Capalba industrial businesses in less than 10mins. Garden city is also about 10mins away. I moved to a few cities with my work and when I come back to Brisbane I can't imagine living anywhere else.
