Reviews of Revesby, NSW
"Express trains and great amenities"
I've lived in Revesby for a decade and it's grown to become a local shopping hub for the area with Woolies, Coles, Service NSW, bank branches and medical centre while retaining a strongly suburban feel. Revesby Station is an express stop on the T8 airport line with 25min trains to Central and one of the largest commuter carparks in the area, perfect for city commuters. The suburb consists of mostly 3-4 bedroom homes/duplexes on wide streets. Stone's throw away from Bankstown if you're looking for more dining and shopping options.

"Great for Families"
Lived here for over 25 years and all my life in the Canterbury Bankstown area.
Good shopping and schools.
Excellent train line to city and airport and M5 motorway as well.
Good parks and recreational facilities and close to Georges river national park.
Wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

"Central location with great schools & transport"
Having worked & lived in the area I find Revesby a great central location with many Sydney landmarks within an easy 30 minute drive or less such as the beach, the city & major shopping centres such as Bankstown, Liverpool, Miranda, Parramatta & Macarthur.
Located on the T8 train line, Revesby is a major station & offers many express trains which allows you to get to the airport in roughly 15 minutes. There are also many bus stops & routes that travel through Revesby.
There are many school options, including Revesby Public, Revesby South Public, St Lukes, De La SalleSir Joseph Banks & Broderick Gilliwarna.
There are plenty of parks within the vicinity.
Revesby is the main shopping hub of the area with both a Coles & Woolworths.

"Very decent suburb in Canterbury Bankstown area"
I find the southern region of Revesby somewhat more desirable, but I wouldn't loathe the suburb as a whole. Glorious natural environment encompassing the suburb, picturesque forests out of the realm of the stereotypical scathing day in Australian summers. Revesby has top notch transport links intercity, and shopping facilities can be accessed in Riverwood. Education here has been developed to cater for the wide family demographic here, thus implying a nature of decent local schools as well as the likes of Picnic Point Public School. Dining out may not be Revesby's strong point, but if you head out further east to Mortdale and Oatley via well serviced busses, you can get a decent meal. I discern massive potential in this suburb in general, as it manages to achieve all this in tandem with carving a safe, placid atmosphere. Community spirit thrives like anywhere in a semi rural environment.

"Fitness center & cafes, Woolworths & Coles at your doorsteps!"
I am a resident but only until recently I have discovered that the Revesby Workers Club has a fitness center that is very comparable to Fitness First but the pricing options are more affordable! The suburb seems to improve a lot since I first moved in, with the brand new Coles & cafes giving residents more options. Shop at Coles when it rains as it has basement parking. Train is very good as well, no delays or whatsoever, which I believe will help office workers and parents be at work on time (especially in a big city like Sydney where transport is a problem). I also enjoy the afternoon walks around the suburbs next to Revesby - Panania / Padstow / East Hills.

My family and I have recently moved into the area and we couldn't be happier! Very peaceful and friendly neighbours. We have all the amenities of a bigger suburb without all the traffic. The river right nearby which we love to go boating. Public transport into the City is great.

"Revesby At The Moment"
Revesby in general is a typical suburb in south west Sydney but since late 2012 tensions have been rising with Bkie groups and their has been a fair bit of crime. When things calm down between the bikies feel free to join in the community but at the moment I don't recommend this suburb and a few others in the bankstown area.

I haven't seen any bikies for the last 5 years living here. I've seen more of them along Canterbury Rd in the more inner city / inner west areas.
Totally agree with Maria. Many families moving in now in this areas and surrounding suburbs like Padstow/Panania.
"Great suburb but lot of public ousting and bikies"
It was a great suburb with great infrastructures, however the stupid previous labor government allowed building of many large public housing blocks into the area without consultation with the community only made it worse. 2 shootings in the last 2 months, 3 within a year and saw 2 cars burning on the street in one year, what can I say? Only hope is with more rich Asian moving in, it will neutralize those bad guys in the area.

"Nice place to live, solid investment"
I've been in Revesby for the last 6 years, I bought my first home here, moved from Bankstown to Revesby and have really enjoyed living here. In this time I have started a family, and Revesby is a great place to raise kids in my personal opinion.
There is a lot of money being spent in the area regarding infrastructure, with the train line duplication project between East Hills and Kingsgrove, which will allow trains to turn around at Revesby and head back into the city. Currently an express train to Central takes about 23 mins which I believe is very reasonable, and this can only improve. There is a Woolworths in Revesby, as well as a Franklins, plus a lot of specialty shops. A new Coles will be opening next year also.
A lot of building is occuring in the area, and I believe the prospects are only looking up for the suburb.

Well Said! I can assure you Revesby is an area which will continue to grow. We sold a 3 Bedroom Villa for $710,000 ( Record ) in Revesby 3 Months ago. It goes to show that buyers are prepared to pay certain amount of dollars for a property which will suit them for a number of years.
"Close to city and all amenities but is it worth it"
Dont mind this area its close to everything! the city, m5, lots of shops its fairly central to a lot of areas and have been living here past three years but now its time to go after getting my car stolen twice in not even 6 months and the house walls getting constantly graffities and bus stop glass smashed every second weekend. Just too many little brats around with nothing better to do than steal and destroy peoples property! thank goodness i am moving !
"Quality Lifestyle"
Revesby is a great family friendly area to live with a great selection of homes to choose from such as House - Duplex - Villa - Townhouse.
Revesby CBD has now built a brand new 750 Car Space Building. Coles Supermarket will be getting built behind around Revesby Workers Club. House prices will rise in the upcoming years due to the amount new shops & car park.
Lots of great restaurants are situated in Revesby and there is also Revesby Workers Club which has regular entertainment and a great bistro.
Overall a lovely place to live and raise your family, retire or starting out.

"Great suburb with potential"
A very convenience suburb with great potential. It is close to M5 and driving to the city only take 20-30 minutes (if no jam at M5-good luck). Train station just upgraded into a main hub with frequent express and normal trains, 6-8 trains per hour at the moment, and the train line is upgrading too, so there will be more express train later. Township is very decent and has many shops, restaurants including Woolie and 5 banks. A new shopping complex is building at the expanding Revesby Worker's club and Coles is moving in. Near to the river and national park too.
It is a potential suburb and one of the decent one in Bankstown-Canterbury area.

"A suburb to want to live in"
As the longest Licensed Real Estate Agent in Revesby and the surrounding District, Garry Clarke is well experienced to comment on Revesby. This is a true family area without doubt. There are great schools which are all well located, as well as plenty of parks and recreational fields for sport for all ages. The Revesby Shopping Centre has since we first opened in 1953 gone through a lot of change, in most cases for the better. We at Revesby have all the major Banks, including the Revesby Post Office as well as a large Woolworths and over the past 10 years the new coffee shops and restaurants that appear to be enjoying success with all the patronage.

Review is so far out from reality it's not funny! If the review is correct, then why are 3 bedroom duplexes fetching $750,000-$780,000???!!! Revesby has become a transport and shopping hub for the area. It is close to schools, transport, major arteries, shopping, cafes and restaurants. I would not hesitate to walk around the streets and night with my children.
