Moved here over 20 years ago due to affordability back then. Still in the same apartment on a busy road close to all facilities.

Very happy with all that Ryde has to offer, particularly public transport and proximity to desirable places.

Don’t overlook Ryde if you now can afford it. So much to offer & just so convenient to live here.

Do I miss the Northern Beaches yes, would I move from Ryde, probably not.

Ryde is an amazing suburb in North Sydney, It is close to the CBD. The bus M52 will take you to Parramatta. Train Station include West Ryde, Meadowbank, North Ryde and many others. It has Top Ryde Shopping where there is a living area, library and Coles just to name a few. Ryde Public School, Northcross Christian School and many other schools. Ryde is a very safe area to live or work.

I lived in Ryde for 15 years and was very happy there. While the lack of a train station seemed inconvenient at first, it removed that 'scummy' element you get with stations. I liked that as a lone female, I could get buses home late at night and feel perfectly safe. The buses take you everywhere, including to West Ryde station. There are some good restaurants (particularly like the Indian one just opened on Blaxland Road) and a great library. Holy Cross College is a decent school for boys (my bro went there). It's a shame the suburb has been overdeveloped. I prefer the old Ryde (pre new shopping centre).

too many apartments, all they want to do is wait until you have parked and the rangers will be by to give you a ticket

I have lived in Ryde for 9 years now and I love it. It has everything except for parks, parks like Sydney Olympic Parks and stuff. Its a great place to live though.

Travelling to the city can be a difficult thing if you need to take the train.

With the new shopping center, it is a lot more places to eat and have fun...
