The best place to live if you want to be in the middle of things. From eating or having a swim at Southbank, West End markets on Saturday mornings, walking along the river, or having a drink on Boundary St in West End.

This used to be a cultural hub with lots of nice coffee places and young professionals living here. It's no longer the case with many trying to get out. So many people buying and selling drugs and lots of petty crime.

Woolloongabba is cut up by the south east freeway and Ipswich road, to provide a number of discrete housing pockets. High density living down near the gabba stadium, and lovely quiet leafy green streets of Queenslanders in other areas. Good public transport, great access to the southeast freeway (you can be down in surfers in 50 minutes) and the CLEM 7. Higher house prices keep the number of rentals in certain pockets down. Great multicultural markets/wholesalers in Balaclava Street. Upmarket restaurants and antique shops are springing up everywhere down on logan road 5 ways.

I was moving to Sydney in June 10 when I came briefly to Brisbane to visit a friend . I fell in love with a fantastic house and bought it that day . I now live in South Brisbane and cannot believe the other real estate bargains that are hidden throughout this suburb. Sydney was like this for years with suburbs like Redfern , Chippendale and Newtown whilst incredibly convenient to the city they didn't have prices to match !! All that has changed now ! My friends visiting me from Sydney are amazed at the short walk to Southbank and furthermore the City ....swimming ,bars , restaurants, museums and Westend all at your fingertips MAGNIFICENT !

Woollongabba, known for its iconic cricket ground "The Gabba", is located only a kilometre from the CBD. At a closer look, the suburb holds a primary school, a hospital and two train stations, four bus stations and great shopping facilities with easy access to the Clem 7. Undergoing rapid gentrification, Woolloongabba is a great place to invest or reside with the Buranda locality given a new life as part of the Eastern Corridor Renewal Strategy.

If the rent would have been a little less, I would have never let the opportunity go by, as rent compared to city is a bit high but the house is a splendor in its own.

Southbank is a vibrant suburb in the inner city region of Brisbane. Recently i went there for the River Fire festival which is held once a year. This suburb with close proximity to local entertainment and city buzz is a fantastic multi cultural environment for all to joy!

Cant wait till next years River Fire festival where the city comes a light !
