The natural beauty of the area is another highlight. With its parks, reserves, and proximity to the Hawkesbury River, it’s perfect for nature lovers and families. Outdoor activities like picnics, fishing, and walking along peaceful trails are always within easy reach. The views, especially at sunset, are breathtaking.

Transport and accessibility are also impressive. While South Windsor enjoys a quieter lifestyle, it’s not isolated. The town offers all essential services, including schools, shops, and cafes, while maintaining that relaxed suburban feel. Plus, it’s a short drive to the thriving centers of Windsor or Rouse Hill for even more options.

Beyond its current charm, South Windsor is an area with enormous potential. With growing interest in the Hawkesbury region, more infrastructure projects and development plans are being introduced, making it clear that South Windsor is set to boom in the coming years. Property values are on the rise as more people discover the area’s appeal!

Just moved to the area and find it easy to walk to everything and you can find any fast food as they have everything. A heap of parks as well. Very happy with the move

Appreciating all the work the council has done over the past few months. Painting, upgrading, providing park benchs all over the area for the elderly.

The local shops, train station and parks are all being upgraded. Definitely appreciating all the improvements in the area. Well worth a look

I have found South Windsor to be a good place with, easy to find local shops with everything you need without heading into Windsor itself. Friendly people and staff

I hate living here and if I could afford to live literally anywhere else, I would.
First of all, it's loud. People are constantly doing burnouts or speeding up the street and at least once a week police are called to the street to break up fights. My car and property have been damaged by people throwing things at our gates while fighting. The place itself is full of pests and dirty, the area is filled with cockroaches. Every day I have to clean up rubbish that has been thrown into my yard and gutter, often time including syringes, bottles and plastic baggies. It's not uncommon to come across stray dogs or cats that have just been dumped by people.
The public transport isn't great, despite Penrith being only 30 minutes away it's increasingly hard to get to by bus. If you plan on commuting to the city allow up to 2 hours each way.
A lot of the people I encounter are loud, rude, and inconsiderate. Pretty much every negative stereotype of Western Sydney is represented here. I've lived in a few suburbs in Western Sydney and South Windsor is by far the worse.

The place is rough around the edges but once you look past it, it is actually awesome.

This spot is cheap living but honest, hard-working neighbourhood. You are close to everything - shops, train, Rouse Hill Town Centre, trips up the Hawkesbury or Mountains, farms, picnic spots and 4 golf courses - Lynwood, Windsor, Rum Corps and Richmond. The view driving home with the mountains is always entertaining and see the planes from the airbase is unique.

Have lived in South Windsor for almost 10 years now and to suggest the suburb is corrupt and plagued with crime is over the top. (I am not a Real Estate Agent) Yes the suburb has an element of being a typical western suburb and you do see the occasional rough or unsavoury type but I have never really have had an issue with anyone. I walk my dog almost daily alone in the local area and often at night and have never been attached or threatened, occasionally the odd jerk yelling out the car window but besides that nothing. The majority of people walk past you and say hello and I also find the younger adults and teenagers quiet respectful saying hello and moving aside letting you pass on the footpath with my very small dog. There are a couple of streets I actively avoid after sunset as I know they are government housing, but if I had to walk down there I wouldn't say I would be terrified. Only Issue was a few months ago a guy wondering around our town houses very early in the morning, my dog alerted me and I opened the front door and ask the guy what he was doing, he said he was looking for recycling bottles, but as he was looking through my car window this story is unlikely. Due to this incident my neighbour and I upgraded our surveillance cameras and lighting. But this sort of behaviour can happen no matter where you live in Sydney. If you are looking for affordable housing there are some really good properties to choose from but ensure you do some research in regards to the street and if you are in the 1 in 100 year flood area as this may cause issues with insurance. I would suggest not buying/living to close to the Golf Course and east of George street. Benefits of the suburb you are a short drive from a variety of parks and nature reserves and it couldn't be better if you like to kayak, boating or freshwater fishing. I also enjoy the drive to Penrith without a single traffic light till you hit the Penrith CBD which has great shopping and the Great River Walk around the Nepean River which I love. There is a regular train to the City from Windsor and lighter traffic congestion compared to the rest of Sydney. Macquarie street could do with a upgrade south of the intersection of Hawkesbury Valley Way as it can get congested in peak hour, but compared to other major roads in Sydney this is a small inconvenience. The South Windsor shops have some essential services like an IGA/Foodworks, Post Office, Barbers/Hairdresser, ATM and Chemist, parking is very easy there along the main street and the car park at rear. Windsor has some Major shops like Coles, Woolworth and Target. But if you are looking for a Major Shopping centre Penrith, Blacktown or Rouse Hill are the closest. As the North West develops further towards the Hawkesbury I believe this area is a good investment. One thing you need to be prepared for is its really hot in summer and really cold in winter and not much in between, you will need an electric blanket an A/C at home. You will also need to be prepared to travel when ever you need to go out in Sydney as an average trip to Parramatta for example is 45 minutes by car and similar by train. Overall there are places I would rather live in Sydney but as affordability its a good choice and I would choose this area over some of Western Sydney or the Liverpool area.

The best thing about South Windsor is the road leading out of here.Having lived here for 17 years I can honestly say that this is the worst place I have ever lived in.Having lived in Cabramatta for over 20 years,Cabramatta is heaven compared to this insipid hell hole.If I could afford to move I would.The local wildlife(the people) are an absolute abomination of nature.Drug affected hoons intimidate during the day at South Windsor shops and rule the poorly lit streets and alley ways at night time.Most people I know(some locals,some friends)know to stay away from this area like the plague.Bashings,fights,drug deals,car hoons robberies,vandalism are a constant presence here.Most locals do not venture past their front door at night.There is little to no decent shopping in Windsor mall.The nearest reputable shopping is 1/2 an hours drive.Traffic on the main thoroughfare is almost constant gridlock on the Main Street which is often more than 1 kilometre long in each direction.The Hawkesbury council reeks of capitalism with a strong army of henchmen to extort every last cent from the mainly poor residents.With very limited street parking available,the shopping centres private car park is now a militant 2 hr zone.The employees of the businesses upstairs need to be vigilant of the time as they have to move their cars every 2 hrs.The 2nd private car park across the road is now under the same scrutiny and the main access gate is locked everyday at 16:30.Although closing time is 17:00 even on Thursday night.The council rates are exorbitant.Even though a quick look at their budget seems to allow for $150,000 p.a for mobile phone calls.The police are extremely lacking in motivation.Having been to the police for legitimate concerns for an illegal break in,serious vandalism to my property and my neighbours,stolen property and a death threat,I was informed there was nothing they could do.I shudder to think what would happen if myself or my family was in serious need of assistance.The local neighbours are too scared to voice their concerns due to repercussions from either the council or the police.Its a shame that law abiding residents need to live in fear of speaking up.Im curious to see what will happen to me.The one brilliant factor about Windsor is the hospital.The best I have seen or used.10/10.However my honest warning is STAY CLEAR OF THE BRONX OF THE HAWKESBURY.
