Reviews of Ulong, NSW
"Don't waste your time!"
Turn around and drive back down!
My family and I visited the area late last year and had lunch at the ex services club. The food was so bad that after one mouthful we could eat another. I went to say something I was completely dismissed by the staff and verbally berated for complaining about the over cooked meal that was not how it was discribed on the menu. I was very surprised by how the staff treated myself and my family. We felt humiliated and our concerns were not acknowledged.
I had thought that this would be a nice day out but after my experience I would never come back. It really wasn't worth the drive! We also witnessed reckless driving going both up and down the mountain and were nearly driven off the side of the mountain by a car driving to fast and was well over the middle line on our way back.
"What a hole!"
What a hole! No wonder its situated in the middle of nowhere! No such thing as a community. Its all about take what you want and hurt your neighbour. I have never witnessed such brazen disrespect for people. There is significant crime in Ulong mixed with horrendous domestic violence! Grafton should relocate its prison to Ulong because this is where all the criminals are!
"Visit but dont move there, its no sanctuary!"
When you first arrive at Ulong and visit the Cafe from first glace it seems to be a nice little town hidden in the valley but very quick you come to realise that what seems to be heaven is hell in disguise. You have to understand that these people are bored and having very little going for them so they pray on the new people that move to the mountain. The locals seem very friendly at first but dont be fooled. You are pawn in their game and you will be burnt! They all hate one another, only having one possible friend and when fresh blood appears they pounce! There is a lot of DV in Ulong, very druggie place, criminals and low lives!
"Absolutely Appalling!"
I have had friends that lived here for a short time and the towns behaviour to new comers is beyond disgusting and this town should be ashamed of themselves! Ulong is a place that only accepts people that are born and bread there. In saying that, they also dispise one another and start rumers to fill the in the emptiness of their lives. To visit, its nice but to live here you need to warned ⚠️ Ulong is by no means a friendly place for outsiders, they will boot you off the mountain after they have taken what they can from you, something the towns people appear to be proud of! Disgraceful!
"Bogan Capital of Coffs Harbour!"
This place is the pits with the only exception of the Cafe (its only redeeming feature i might add). Every Bogan and hill billy's hide away, hidden in the valley.

I can relate very much to your comment! I had a friend that lived there awhile back and sometimes what seems like heaven can be disgused as hell! The locals seem very nice at first but very quickly you come to realise that they have ulterior motives and you are just part of their sick game. My friend learnt this first hand. The locals are not good people at heart and they pray on the new ones!
The national forests are very pretty, thats about the only nice thing I can say about it.
I agree very much with you Jason that the towns people of Ulong ought to be ashamed of them selves but those people are just evil to the core!
