"Westleigh - Back to 80s suburb - kids and close community"

Westleigh, a secret Gem in the Upper North Shore of NSW

Nestled in the upper north shore of NSW, Westleigh is truly a hidden gem. Even the locals often ask, “How did you discover our suburb?” With its leafy streets and welcoming vibe, Westleigh offers much more than meets the eye.

The suburb boasts a shared school, a charming village shopping center, bush trails, Ruddock Park, and even its own pharmacy and barbershop (and AGL and Aldi, 4 cafés . An Italian, Thai and Japanese restaurants and 4 bakeries) It’s a place where community thrives—where neighbors and friends cross paths everywhere, from parks to the local shops. Even kids can’t escape bumping into their schoolmates at the park, making formal playdates unnecessary.

The result? A close-knit community that embodies true Australian values of togetherness and shared growth. Kids in Westleigh don’t need structured plans—they simply head to the park or the famous local chips spot.

According to council statistics, 95% of the traffic in this pocket-sized suburb comes from its own residents. This sense of locality strengthens the bond among its people, creating a place where everyone feels at home.

And let’s not forget the community highlights! From vibrant sporting events and carnivals to Santa’s annual visit, Westleigh has something for everyone. Halloween here is a spectacle not to be missed—the entire suburb turns into an amusement park-like experience.

Westleigh also attracts its share of prominent residents, including film stars (yes, think Gladiator), top doctors, lawyers, and C-suite executives. While we can’t name-drop, you might just meet them at the Men’s Catchup on Saturday mornings.

Oh, and for young families? We’ve got you covered with our fantastic daycare facilities.

Come visit Westleigh—you’ll see why we call it home.

And yes, people know you are local when you ask - “ how did you come to know about us “ 🤣

"A village feeling - near public transport, motorways, shopping, selective & private schools"

We love living in this leafy quiet suburb - with it's village atmosphere. When take our early morning walks - people greet each other with a friendly smile and a 'hello'. We have public transport nearby, excellent shopping possibilities at Hornsby and a good selection of public, selective & private schools to choose from. This is the perfect area for people who want to enjoy their weekends away from the bustle - but still be able to get to work quickly during the week.

"A serene piece of paradise in a fast paced city."

As more and more younger families more into the area the housing is being updated. We have good parks, an oval and the suburb is close to the norths shore's top private schools. Friends who visit, and who live in the inner city, say that it reminds them of being away at a country retreat having the birds singing and the mist in the winter time. Anyone can find something wrong with any suburb, but to nit pick only means that the suburb is quality.

"A wonderful place to live"

Westleigh is a quiet, leafy and friendly suburb with no through traffic. It has its own ' village' style shopping centre. There are parks, tennis courts and it has its own day care centre and primary school. Crime is relatively unheard of and the streets are clean and the majority of the residents are very houseproud and look after their gardens. The birdlife in Westleigh is prolific and there is also a dog park. Westleigh is close to Hornsby Shopping Centre and has easy access to both the M2 and F3. Public transport poses no problem as the buses run frequently and there are many train stations with parking to choose from within a few minutes drive.
