"Great suburb to raise kids"

I have grown up in Wetherill Park and attended the local primary and high schools around the area, Wetherill Park is a great suburb to raise your kids as the quality of the local parks are clean and kid friendly, i also found the schools to be of a high standard when i attended and will be enrolling my kids when the time comes.
I have decided to even open and run my own real estate office in the area to help others enjoy the same quality of life i have been experiencing for the past 30 years. The affordability in the area is great as well.

"You have most of the things you need here"

Everything that you need is pretty much walking distance. Wetherill Park has medical centers, shopping centers, if you aren't extremely unwell the hospital is ok, a police station and this to keep the kids entertained. Most of the parks are pretty clean. A lot of the older residents live here but are slowly moving out so the place is slowly filling with young families. The properties are pretty expensive for their age but most places in Sydney are.

"I'm so happy I got out!"

This site is generally for real estate agents to prop up the local area in the hope to increase revenue for their business.
If anybody gets the chance to read this review before said agents press the "report" option, and thus have this review temporarily removed.
I wish to tell you that Wetherill Park in the 80's and 90's was a great place to live in. Great people, great school teachers, friendly neighbours.

Today, for around $1,000,000 it will buy you a 40 year old 4 bedroom house that may or may not have had the home handyman wanna-be "Fix up" the house for about 5-10 thousand dollars and sell for $200,000 more than they paid 6 months earlier. Also, Generally speaking, your choice of neighbour will be a housing commission, a drug dealer or drug user.

Before buying, I recommend just going down to the local police station located just behind Stocklands, and have a chat to the cop at the reception desk about their daily routine dealing with home invasions, drive by shootings and drug induced assaults. If this is too confronting and not necessary as "all areas have their problems", I then recommend a quick walk over to the local school and speak to the teachers and with any luck, you will find one that can converse with you in English.

The last thing we should ever EVER do, is listen to a real estate agent (this is now your que to report).

Umm a little harsh and full of bs... drive by shootings? when was there a drive by shooting?

rayb11

Hi einny, Ray here. By all means, if you are looking for praise, Here it is.... Wetherill Park is a lovely place. Houses are affordable and the people are lovely. This is what our real estate agent told our buyers who paid $1.2 million. There are suckers born every minute in this world, I personally love using their ignorance for my personal gain. I wrote the above review, as I have nothing to gain from lying. I somehow get the feeing that you live in the old WP and love it or are currently looking at selling, GREAT! Just know that because you have chosen to be blind to the truth, doesn't mean everybody else should be kept in the dark just to make you feel somewhat significant. I am 39 years old, I saw first hand how that suburb went from family friendly, to an absolute s#*thole. I challenge you to disagree.

Agree Ray! Also grew up here 1980s -90s... And oh my how it has changed .. the past 20 yrs in particular.. I understand places change, but when its for the worse its awful for the next generation. Absolute shame! Had great memories but wld never venture back now. Unfortunately my parents never made it out & had to endure the last of their days in the midst of mayhem.. I have my views on what led to its demise.. Ill leave it there.

I could not agree more!
Wetherill Park has most definitely changed over the last few decades, and for the worst!
Denial of reality seems to be the new normal nowadays with pretty much any subject matter, and as seen in the first reply to the original comment.
If you lived there, you would know.
If you do not live there, still want to comment about how there are never any things like drive by shootings, JUST GOOGLE IT!!

I had a lovely and very memorable childhood, but not a chance in hell I would ever go back now or recommend to anyone to actually live there deliberately. Anybody who says otherwise, will definitely have a hidden agenda.
