Whats Callaway Park, Sunshine West like?
Sunshine West, VIC 3020 is located within the Brimbank local government area, part of the Melbourne (Greater) Region in Victoria.
Am I crazy? Am I moving into a place where I will get robbed, bashed or have my car stolen? Is the train station an unthinkable place I should never commute from? Or is this the beginning of the gentrification of sunshine west and I am simply over-reacting?
There are only 2 types people commenting on Sunshine West in this website: real residents who describe it as filth, and real estate developers who claim its paradise on earth.
Would love to hear real residents thoughts on what I am about to do.

There's a reason they call it Throwaway Park, it's a tip, sure all the new houses look nice but take a stroll down Callaway Blvd that runs through the middle of the estate, I've been to third world countries with less rubbish on the streets.
There are nicer parts of Sunshine West, there are also worse parts, choose carefully! But I've never felt unsafe living there, in 10+ years I've never had my house or car broken into, and the only fight I've ever seen at the train station was between 2 women! I saw far more crime when I rented in South Yarra for 6 months.
I've recently just finished building my house 3 months ago. The street I live in is fantastic. Friendly neighbours who look out for one another and are very welcoming. It is quiet and the location is just so convenient being next to the freeway. During the warmer evenings, I see lots of families walking to the parks, kids playing and just a general good feeling about the area. I know it's only been a short time but coming from Braybrook, it's been great so far.
I agree with more crime in South Yarra
