Surfside, NSW 2536

Very nicely located suburb in a 15-20 min walking (or 3min driving) distance from Batemans Bay CBD. This short distance is ideal as you are close to all the amenities, but avoiding all the noise. Beach is beautiful and you can actually walk at the beach all the way to the bridge to Batemans Bay. Very picturesque views during daylight and also night time overlooking the water and marina. Most of the houses are old, but very well looked after by loving owners. People are very friendly and supportive, often you can see somebody doing mowing for elderly neighbour. The are a lot of modern houses on Myamba parade facing the beach. Some properties are advertised for family accommodation as this is a popular tourist destination, but there are not many, so tourists (usually families with kids) blend nicely into the community. There’s a local shop/coffee near the beach, so you can always get something from there with no need to go to Batemans Bay. During tourist season traffic in Batemans Bay all the way to Bateheaven is quite bad, but Surfside is not impacted as a big portion of tourists come from ACT creating traffic at the roundabout before the bridge, but Surfside is located just before that roundabout if you are coming from Sydney.
The only downside we noticed - lack of kids playgrounds, however it wasn’t a big deal as there’s always plenty to do at that amazing beach!
