Reviews of Tannum Sands, QLD

"Nothing to do no community spirit"

Lived there 2 years, nothing to do and no community spirit.
The whole area is very pretty but isolated with all flights going down to Brisbane before anywhere else it's also super costly.
The midgies eat you alive from September to March and the humidity hits you like a brick wall for the same period of time.
Lots of work in Gladstone is the only bonus. But you can't get a tradesman for love or money.
Very cheap property prices at the moment but hard to sell if you need to in a hurry.

"Tannum Sands - Winner 2018 Cleanest Beach of the Year!"

Where else would you want to live when a town wears this crown!

There are a number of beaches to choose from to visit however for young families Tannum Main Beach is patrolled during the Summer Season, and there is also 4 wheel driving up to Lily's Beach. A Council Permit is required, and you can obtain a permit online or at the Gladstone Regional Council. Known to the locals as "Second Beach" is the unleashed dog beach. If you are looking for another beach option, at low tide you can walk over Wild Cattle Creek and up the eastern side of Wild Cattle Island.

Our community is blessed with an abundance of artists and on the first Saturday of each month BAM (Beach, Arts, Music) is held on the Millenium Esplanade, where you will find local produce and wares for sale along with a band. BYO chair & drinks and buy a wood fired pizza, watch the sunset over the water, listening to a variety of local muso's.

Tannum Surf Club has the best view in town looking out to the local islands - Cold beer and fabulous food - you can't beat it. Tannum Sands Hotel also has a fabulous menu and cold beer on tap again with magnificent views over the water.

There are a number of small cafes which offer fantastic coffee and meals.

I live in Tannum Sands and have done so for the past 19 years and I honestly would not live anywhere else.

"Tannum Sands - Small town with great beaches"

Tannum Sands is situated 30 Minutes from Gladstone and about 1 Hour from Rockhampton. Nestled in among the industry of Gladstone is Tannum Sands. Close to the beach and only a short drive to Gladstone, where else would you want to live.

"Lovely seaside town"

We have been here for 3 years. It has got a bit busier because of the Curtis Island Project but still a lovely place to raise children. The beaches are clean. Great fishing. The schools are excellent!

Love reading the positive experiences! We have been looking at property, family have stayed in the area and mentioned there are crocs. Would love to know if this is a big concern? We are longing for beach living for our young family.
