"Beautiful Town in the Heart of the Barossa Valley"

Situated in the heart of the Barossa Valley, Tanunda is surrounded by beautiful vineyards, cafes, and restaurants. There are gorgeous wineries to visit, along with plenty of fun activities for the family to do, including bowling and mini golf at Barossa Bowland, or a visit to Barossa Valley Chocolate Company.

"Awesome town in the heart of the Barossa Valley"

I love this place. Surrounded by wineries, and always has a very friendly feel to the place. Has good amenities and is only 1-2 hours away from Adelaide. Country living not too far from the city at its best

"A small township just out of Tanunda"

Adjacent Tanunda, Bethany is another beautiful little Barossa town. It almost forms part of Tanunda but it is a different place. There are no shops of note, they are all in Tanunda, but the church is one of the best in the Barossa. Simply stunning. I got married here.

Bethany is another great little spot to go if you're looking for a tree change. With views of vines in just about every direction there is a tranquil feel about Bethany that simply cannot be beaten. It is one of my favourite places in the Barossa and would be an area I would consider moving my young family if working in the city wasn’t such a long commute.

"Heart of the Barossa, and a great vibe"

Tanunda is the main town in the Barossa and has some great places to eat and some of the more well known wineries.

Tanunda has all of the major shops in the Barossa and so if you're here then you'll have what you need close by.

There are a lot of visitors to Tanunda as it is the main town in the Barossa and is home to a number of wineries and B&B's.

I love Tanunda. Despite all the visitors it still has a great quiet and country feel. It’s not too far from Adelaide and the wine is superb.

For those that like a pretzel, a real German one, there is a bakery in Tanunda that has the best you can get anywhere in Adelaide. Hahndorf may have the German marketing team on board but their pretzels simply can't compare.

There are some great older houses around Tanunda and a few good family homes. This is a great place for a tree change.

There are some good parks around the place and plenty of places to go for a nice walk. A walking wine tour is easy to do.

"Cosmopolitan living in the heart of Barossa"

In the heart of the Barossa Valley and 80 kilometres from Adelaide, Tanunda is a pretty town of around 4,000 people. Adelaide is just over an hour away by car.

Business thrives in this community, largely due to the Barossa Valley's well-earned reputation as Australia's most renowned wine region.

Facilities are plentiful offering all you need for a comfortable country lifestyle - there is a large supermarket, medical practice and hospital, banks, cafés. The Apex Bakery will quickly find its way to the top of your shopping list, with delicious bread, pastries and hot food.

A great spot for raising a family, there are a number of schools in the town including Tanunda Primary School, Tanunda Lutheran and Faith Secondary School.

Sports facilities include the Tanunda oval, tennis courts and swimming pool (all located just off the Main Street), the Recreation Centre with a gym, pool and indoor courts and the Tanunda Golf Course about a 10 minute drive from town.

The community is very active, with a number of gourmet events, art exhibitions and music performances shaping the calendar every year, as well as the Vintage Festival every second year.

The town has a very metropolitan style, with a number of cafés, top quality restaurants (try 1918 on the Main Street) and three main pubs (the Tanunda Hotel, the Valley and the Tanunda Club) - the local favourite seems to change every year or so. There are also a number of cellardoors in the town itself (such as Peter Lehmann, Richmond Grove, Langmeil Wines), not to mention all of the other wineries set in the rolling hills and valleys of the Barossa Valley region.
