How safe? If you want to look at crime trends, try http://crimetool.bocsar.nsw.gov.au. BOSCAR is the NSW bureau for crime statistics. It maps the hot spot areas, broken down into different types of crime.
Telopea seems to have a bit of an issue with malicious damage (I suspect this includes graffiti) but so do many suburbs Sydney area.

Hi Katy, I find Telopea quite safe and have not had any complaints from the tenants in the properties I manage. I do not actively notice graffiti but I am sure this is what it is referencing to.
