Torbanlea State School is an horrendous institution. I withdrew my children after staff members traumatised them, then intentionally tried to cover the incidents up. After my eldest informed me what the teachers had done to them, I took my children to therapists who advised me to withdraw them from the school immediately. As well as a number of abusive staff members, many of the young students are aggressive and have vulgar language. In my experience Torbanlea State School is not a safe and nurturing environment for any child. After I left the school, a number of parents approached me and informed me that their children had also been treated terribly at the school. Unfortunately, these parents did not make formal complaints, but rather moved their child from the school, or stated that they just hoped that it would get better. It is for this reason, that little has been done to stop the cycle.
