Is Two Rocks a nice safe surburb to bring up children?

I am moving to WA in the near future from the UK and have no idea where to begin looking for a place to live. Really appreciate any view points.

Everything in Perth is subdivided into North of the River (NOR) or South of the River (SOR). So NOR, your best bet would be Joondalup (near beach, lots of British expats, safe, clean). SOR perhaps Willetton (great schools, quiet, very safe, in the heart of the burbs). Basically, our council housing is called HomesWest, and if you have lots of HomesWest housing in your area then there's a good chance that crime and anti-social behaviour will follow. HTH

Oh sorry, just saw your little map. Do you mean Two Rocks? If so, it's north of the river, a fair way from the city by the beach. I hazard a guess it's safe..it's pretty much country.

Compared to places i've been in metropolitan UK, everywhere in WA is pretty safe.

Most areas have Homeswest homes but not all Homeswest tennants are "bad" people. There are a lot of homeowners that are worse than some of the Homeswest folk. My guess would be that most of us do not even know which houses in our area would be Homeswest. I know some private rentals that have unsavoury characters in them. I live in Two Rocks and as far as safety goes, I have never heard of anyone being hurt by others. I sometimes walk at night and never feel worried.

as a mum of 2 small children i wouldnt reccomend anywhere else =) Two rocks is only 35 minutes from Joondalup CBD and 20 minutes from Clarkson train station. Theres shops, good public transport and its only 5-10 from the rapidly growing yanchep. everyone iv met has been friendly and theres a real small town feel about two rocks which is nice. only downside is the beaches accumulate alot of seaweed and theres not a great deal of things for older children to do.
