Auricchio Avenue

"very unhappy"

I was there for 12 months and very unhappy with the house and owner.
The lane is not very good and once one of my cars was damaged by the side of curb.
its very old fashioned lane.
couple of boys, always drinking and coming out bare.
specifically houses on the north side, are very cold in the winter since the sunlight is not entered properly into the bedrooms.
plenty of pests, even in new houses.
internet connection is awfull as the exchange is sited in bad subexchange and you are not able to have ADSL2+ or high speed internet.
very far from becah and not worth for the price
see glenelg and brighton prices to understand
strongly advise you against this lane. you may try other lanes before coming to this area.

You sound very critical of an up and coming suburb close to everything. I live in St Marys and also know friends that live on Auricchio Ave. They have never had any problems there for 20yrs. Sure the houses are old 50s/60s type house but they are slowly being renovated/redeveloped which will fresh up the area. Auricchio Ave is a lovely gumtree lined street, yes there is lots of shade so great in summer but cold in winter as u say(cant have everything!) Plenty of pests yes but it is close to Shepards Hill bush land. Far from the beach- Not really but close to everything- Natural scrub/bush/hills, city and beach is only 10 min drive. If u wanna live close to the beach go for it but u will pay alot more price premuim(ALOT MORE) and alot more sun too!! Reported Crime rate is low in St Marys compered with Glenelg/Brighton too. U must have been unlucky. St Marys is severely underpriced too compared with EdenHills, belair, glenelg, brighton etc but will soon catch up fast

Forgot to mention ur also close to the best Pasadena foodland in town which is currently being developed in to the new 'Pasadena Green shopping complex'. Also close to Marion shopping centre complex, Flinders Uni, Flinders Hospital, Great Primary/High schools, great walking/mountain bike trails across Fivash drv, 8km to city and beach. The list goes on! Compare St Marys/Pasadena to equivalent suburbs on the North side of the city (Riddled with crime) here will feel like Burnside.

Dear friend, i gave u just a non biased opinion, but to let u know more,
Its more than 17 km to the CBD and 8 km to the beach which in a city like adelide u cant say near to the beach.
You may find anywhere foodland or other groceries even walking distance not 5 mins driving, so its not a +ve point for this area.
If u want to compare an area, u should see what u have with the price as u might agree with me, and u r paying more than its worth for a new house in compare of other suburbs. Old houses which are cheaper, are not good in inside. The lane is very old fashioned, u can go to mostof suburbs and see gumtree lined ones which are very neat and looking new. The developing and renovation is too slow. Maybe u find less than 10 % new in some areas.
Finally, southern suburbs are not comparable with northern ones, and i dont want to compare st marys, specifically auricchio ave with those areas, but you are paying one of. The highest prices in SA for an area which is not in the first 10 ranking

Wish u the best and for all who has chosen to live there!!

"Finally, southern suburbs are not comparable with the northern ones". Have you ever been to areas north of Grand Junction Road? Get back to me when you have then you will have a lot to compare about, and it's with the southern suburbs winning the comparison. Your review was also extremely untrue and you are actually coming off as biased.

Auricchio sux.
Been here for decades, it has only gotten worse, not only for me but 8 of my neighbours who have been broken into within the last 5 years. Traffic is rediculous due to the caryards at the end. People are always doing 60-80kmh. More and more duplexes with 4 to 8 people in each. And if you saw what my night vision security cameras capture, you wouldnt feel safe at night.

And the conclusion for you? Move to ANY suburb north of Regency Road, because almost all of them are exactly what you talk about, and then get back to me. Because trust me, you'll be regretting yourself that you actually think these beautiful southern suburbs are bad. I live north of Regency Road and have so for many years, is my proof. So good luck you find your "dream" suburb.
