Traralgon

"Beautiful city like town in the country....the best of both worlds!"

When talking about Traralgon's good points where do I begin.....you have everything at your door step: A friendly atmosphere, excellent restaurants and entertainment venues, great schools, great shopping, good employment opportunities, it's within an hour drive to the beach, snow and plenty of places nearby to go on family day trips and picnics! And only 2 hours drive to Melbourne! I've lived in Traralgon on and off for 20 years and have never once been scared for mine or my families safety, I walk my dog late at night in the summer months and feel very safe....there are some areas better than others but in the bad areas unless you go looking for trouble it won't find you! Yes there are busy times when the traffic can become a bit congested but no where near as bad as Melbourne or other big regional towns, I can usually still get home from down the street within 10 minutes at peak times! Life is what you make it and if you want to love where you live then Traralgon is the place to be! As for other peoples reviews: There is a large indoor pool only ten minutes drive down the hwy and I take my daughter to swim lessons at a private swim school only 2 mins drive from my house....it's affordable and the instructor is excellent! Saturday night pub crime....like I said if you go looking for trouble it will find you! No Kerb side collection makes your neighbourhood look much cleaner anyway so that is a good thing and the tip fees to dump waste are minimal! I've never had anyone attempt to steal from me! I've only ever smelt the paper mill when I've driven directly past it and as its out of town you are not likely to drive past it very often. Traralgon is most definitely without hesitation a 5/5 for me :)
