"Quiet suburb with nice views"
I grew up in Wynnum, and used to spend some time riding my bike around Lota. It's very quiet and peaceful and has nice views in some parts. The train station makes it an easy ride from Lota > CBD. It's kind of boring though, all of the action happens in Wynnum and Manly.

"Easy Breezy Suburb"
I lived at Wynnum from when I was 13 - 22. If you are active or have a dog, it's a great suburb. There are plenty of walking/biking tracks right by the water and it's a nice and cool place to exercise. The dog park at Wynnum North is the best I have been to. It's very busy and there is heaps of space. When I first moved, Wynnum was lacking trendy coffee shops/cafes but this has completely changed now. There are heaps of cute spots to grab a bite to eat not unlike Bulimba. Wynnum doesn't have much of a nightlife and can be boring but you can catch the train to the city. If you don't drive, the train stations are not really in convenient locations so you will most likely need to walk 10 - 15 mins to access them. Otherwise, it's a great suburb.
Great for
- Great for families
- Great views
- Great for the out-doors type
Not great for
- Lack of nightlife
- Inconvenient if you don't drive
- Outdated business centre

Yes I would like to know the same...considering moving from Sydney and have read varying reports about the same.
Hi, I used to live not far from the Wynnum golf course and have always heard that the streets surrounding it are a bit snooty. It's a posh area - not rough at all. The only areas in Wynnum I would consider a bit rough are streets near Wynnum central train station and back streets of Wynnum North... Wynnum is getting more and more expensive to buy into and rent though so eventually the prices will surely cut out a lot of the riff raff.
Thanks Alex for taking time to respond. Your opinion was helpful :)
I meant your comment, not opinion. I was reading the word opinion at the bottom at the same time and typed it in error. Cheers
"Leafy suburb with kind neighbors"

- Friendly neighbors
Not great for

Hey Alex, what do you know about the streets away from the bay, like Louise St, West Ave near Wynnum golf course. Do you know if that area is family friendly or is it a bit rough?
