Nearly a year after we bought in Hughesdale and moved here, I and my wife never cease to think that we couldn't have made a better choice. It's an exceptionally convenient location, and cleaner, greener and quieter than Carnegie where we lived before. When someone asks "Hughesdale?" I tell them it is the suburb opposite Chadstone Shopping Centre. The Oakleigh flyover is a boon for predictable travel time to get to the highways, and all Metro trains stop at Oakleigh station. Neighbouring Benteigh East and Murrumbeena, it has access to the resources of both Glen Eira and Monash councils. Hughesdale is not in any prestigious secondary school zone, but apart from that everything is a hop, skip and jump away.
