I've lived in Springvale South for almost 15 years and I would say there are a range of supermarkets and shopping centres within close driving distance so everything is easy to get to. Also the beach isn't too far of a drive either. I didn't mind living far from the city because there are many suburbs around that have their own night life therefore I didn't need to travel to the city too often.

Personally, my only downside is that I did not feel safe, I felt like at times I was being watched or occasionally would see something dodgy happening and I've had my fair share of unsafe moments so therefore I make sure to lock everything or have someone on the phone if I need to walk to my car outside and it's dark.

It's really great for the dogs as there are many dog walkers around and a lovely dog park. Public transport and freeway access is easy to get to.
