  • Wide open spaces

Not great for

Really? Well, how come nearly every night on Channel 7 or 9 news, there's either got a murder, car break-in or house invasions in Elizabeth?

STOPPED bagging Elizabeth and the Northern Suburbs? We live in the Northern Suburbs and it is fine. We visit Elizabeth shopping centre regularly and the people there are fine, yes you do see some strange sights, but Hell, I have been to Burnside shopping centre and seen some disgusting sights there too. Stop with the outdated stereotyping.

I'm sorry. I am just giving my honest opinion.

That's alright AnnaT2.It's a lot worse nowadays. If It weren't sometimes for Needing the Travel Agent or the Bank I would not bother going up that way.Burnside is alright but a little up itself.I am not a fan of how with a few exceptions they have turned that place into a heaven for designer label lovers but a hell for the rest of us who nowadays are forced elsewhere.

Yeah, I know.

I think you see lots of bad news about Elizabeth because it sell, people love to hear it. It makes them feel better about where they live with their enormous mortgage or high rent. I owe alot to Elizabeth from helping me be empathetic and non-pretentious to giving me the opportunity at 18 to buy a house for $57,000 (2001). Now I live elsewhere but if my financial situation required I would move back in a heartbeat before renting!!! I have seen much worse shops (arndale/kilkenny comes straight to mind)

Says who that putting Elizabeth on the news everynight will make people "feel better about where they live".?! That's the most outrageous thing I've heard from anyone coming from their own perspective.

Recommend for beach lovers, trendy and stylish???? DELUSIONAL!! That would be like saying that Port Augusta has a prestine crystal blue lake running through the town, with million dollar views.

I live in Brisbane and I remember seeing on the news about a murder in Elizabeth not so long ago. I might be weird, but it didn't sell the suburb to me I'm glad there are feral people down there too, I was starting to think they all lived in QLD!!!! Although SA feral and QLD feral might be two different things, QLD would probably win
I've never been to Adelaide but I wouldn't mind moving there when my lease is up. I have gathered that Elizabeth and Munno Parra etc aren't great areas so where are the good areas? Is down Morphett Vale way okay? It seems affordable although the affordable houses are old but I'd rather old than bad neighbours! Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Hey meme5, sorry for keeping you waiting. Ive just been busy with other things and it kind of gets in the way of things haha.
If youre wanting to move to Adelaide, its a beautiful yet quieter city than most other capitals. But it does have some problems like unemployment but its gerting better.
I could easily from the top of my head tell you the top good and bad areas in the north, south, east and western suburbs so Ill put them into categories for you to help:

North (good)
Walkley Heights
Nailsworth
Northgate
Lightsview
Oakden
Golden Grove/Wynn Vale areas (Modbury can SOMETIMES be dodgy though)
Enfield (it can look ever so slightly dodgy at times but its a nice area and close to the city to knock down and build a new home. Its also pretty safe too)

North (bad):
Prospect and Clearview, but even more so, Blair Athol, can be a little unsafe at times. The absolute no-go zones are Kilburn and anything past Walkley Heights or Pooraka (this one is dodgy though), e.g. Parafield Gardens, Davoren Park, Elizabeth and all surrounds, Paralowie, Salisbury and all surrounds, Smithfield/Smithfield Plains, Munno Para/Munno Para West, Andrews Farm, Blakeview and Craigmore.

South (good) There is so many good ones down south but Ill tell you in a nutshell:
Pasadena
Panorama
Goodwood
Cumberland Park
Westbourne Park
Brighton
St Marys
Hallett Cove
Flagstaff Hill
Sheidow Park
Port Noarlunga
Seaford and surrounds
Moana
Sellicks Beach
Aldinga Beach

South (bad)
Huntfield Heights
Christie Downs
Hackham West
Compared to the north which is riddled with bad areas, this is pretty much all the areas down south you should avoid!

West (good)
West Lakes
West Lakes Shore
North Glenelg
Grange
Southern part of Seaton
Semaphore Park
Thebarton
Henley Beach
Lockleys
Fulham Gardens
Flinders Park
Findon

West (bad)
Northern part of Seaton
Semaphore
Port Adelaide
Taperoo
Athol Park
Ferryden Park
Mansfield Park
Parts of Croydon/Croydon Park
Woodville North

East (good)
Campbelltown
Dernancourt
Athelstone
Burnside and surrounds (if you can afford it)
Aldgate
Norwood
Newton

East (bad)
Im not too sure with bad areas in the east because its a smaller geographical location compared to north, south and east but I would assume Norwood would also be a bit unsafe because of how busy it gets there. I remember going several times on The Parade on a Saturday night and saw drunks walking the streets, hoons and bogans even but I guess these would be the type of things that happen in the other bad areas too so Im unfamiliar with the east.

So yeah this is pretty much the simplest way I can help you out by providing some info about the suburbs. If youre curious in any of the areas here Im more than happy to help out! Also sorry for the veeery long comment haha!

Also, I apologise for the messy structure. I had done them in a paragraph structure to make it more easier to read but obviously it didnt turn out that way when I posted the comment.

Wow!! that was a reply and a half! Thanks so much!! I like that Adelaide is quieter, I could never live somewhere like Sydney or Melbourne. I'll check out the houses around the good suburbs you've mentioned, probably not Burnside by the sounds of it though hahah also if you have any suggestions on good schools? Ideally I would like to send my son to a Christian or Lutheran school so do you happen to know which ones have good reputations? He is in year 3.

Thanks again for your help. You went above and beyond!!!

thesuburbreviewer25

Youre more than welcome! Its a pleasure I could help out. :)
And also the comment where I said it was a messy structure now is in the structure I had done it in, just needed to refresh the page thats all haha.

Yeah I could try and definitely help you out with schools. Would Catholic count as Christian as well? Also, would you prefer north, south, east or west?

Yeah your reply came out fine on my phone!
It doesn't matter which part of Adelaide as since I haven't been there I don't have a preference although I'm kind of turned off the North so far haha No Catholic schools (I'm not Catholic ;)) And preferably a primary/secondary school as he is already on his third school so I don't want to change him to another primary school only for him to have to change schools again for high school.

Thank you!!

thesuburbreviewer25
thesuburbreviewer25

Oh ok, sorry I thought that Catholicism and Christianity were both kind of the same thing. I apologise for that.

Ill just catergorise the schools in the same way I did with the suburbs. Of course no school is absolutely perfecf but these are the schools Ive heard are good.

North:
Golden Grove Lutheran School (Wynn Vale) R-7, Co-ed.
Pedare Christian College (Golden Grove) R-12, Co-ed
St Paul Lutheran School (Blair Athol) R-12, Co-ed

Thats pretty much all Ive heard about good Christian and Lutheran schools in the north. Most of the schools there dont have really great reputations but these schools are probably your best bet there.

South:
Our Saviour Lutheran Christian School (Aberfoyle Park) R-7, Co-ed
Prescott Primary School Southern (Morphet Vale) R-7, Co-ed
St Johns Grammar School (Belair) ELC-12, Co-ed
St Peters Lutheran School Blackwood (Blackwood) R-7, Co-ed
Sunrise Christian School - Marion Campus (Marion) R-12, Co-ed
Tatachilla Lutheran School (McLaren Vale) R-12, Co-ed
Woodcraft College (Morphett Vale) R-12, Co-ed

More of a variety down south AND its not just in the inner areas like the north because schools down north have more of a bad reputation compared to the south.

East:
Prince Alfred College (Kent Town) R-12, All-boys
St. Michaels Lutheran Primary School (Hahndorf), R-7, Co-ed
Waikerie Lutheran Primary School (Waikerie), R-7, Co-ed

Unfortunately the eastern suburbs dont really specialise in providing Lutheran or Christian schools as most of the schools around here are Catholic, possibly due to the large Italian population that live here.

West:
Immanuel College (Novar Gardens) ELC-12, Co-ed
Tabour Christian College (South Plympton) R-12, Co-ed

And unfortunately same goes to the west too. Although theres a mixture of a large Italian/Greek population here, its just always been that the western suburbs dont have a lot of Christian or Lutheran schools either.

I really hope this helps!! Feel free to ask me anything and Ill try and help you out further! :)
PS: Apologies for commenting late again, got busy again.

thesuburbreviewer25 Port Adelaide Is a North Western Suburb Youll Find Not Western its North of The City Being on Port Road and Northwestern Suburb

coolmac98
coolmac98

thesuburbreviewer25 In Fact Your Wrong Semaphore, Port Adelaide, Taperoo, Athol Park, Ferryden Park, Mansfield Park, Croydon, Croydon Park, Woodville North, Kilkenny are actually Northwestern Suburbs because they are Considered North Western Suburbs Not Western Because They are On Torrens Road and Port Road and Thats North West of The City.

coolmac98

thesuburbreviewer25 I Know Some Bad Eastern Suburbs you could add too that List. Bad - East: Rostrevor, Magill, Tranmere and Some Christian Schools to the Northern List. North: St Thomas Moore College / Salisbury Downs Torrens Valley Christian School / Hope Valley Blakes Crossing Christian School / Blakeview Roma Mitchell Secondary College - Catholic School / Gepps Cross
