"A great place to be"
Having lived in Brunswick for almost 30 years one thing I have found is that I love this area more and more as time goes on. The vibe keeps getting more upbeat and there are always cool new bars, restaurants and cafes constantly opening.

Hi Appolyon :) Also agree with what you're saying ... in the last few years the vibe in the area has really grown. Before it was a bit dingy. No funky places. Boring houses and shops. Very dull. Now, we've got lots of funky cafes and shops on Lygon street (down our area of Lygon, that is). Younger couples are moving in ... giving the area a new lease on life.
Though there are still lots of muppets that live in the area and ruin it for others (eg. asshats that go to Macca's, then throw their Macca's out of their cars after the've eaten them, while parked near the various parks ... the drive a few streets home :( In time they'll be forced out >:)
Bug ups to Brunswick East ... great up-n-coming suburb :)
oh yes indeed! I love Rumi on Lygon St and also dropping in to the East Bruwnsick Club Hotel for a parma and to see bands.
