Carlisle

"Everything is at your doorstep"

Carlisle is close to the city at only 6km from the CBD and it has a good mix of young working couples and families. Oats St Station is a major rail and bus junction with public transport branching out directly in many directions. You also forget sometimes just how close it is to the Domestic Airport for fly-in-and-out workers and the Swan and Canning Rivers for a paddle.

The Scools are many and varied with East Vic Park Primary, Lathlain Primary and Carlisle Primary Schools a short walk or drive away from all points in Carlisle and Kent St High School with specialst courses available having direct bus access from the Oats St Station.

Shopping depends on what your after. You can put on your daggy trackies and drive 5 mins to Belmont Forum and fit right in, or dress up and hop on the train to Subi or the City. The buses will head directly to Fremante and Morley Galleria from the Oats St Station as well. Carousel is less than a 10 min drive away and with The Heart of the Park's late night trading, Carlisle IGA's 7-day trading and The Park Centre less than a 5 min drive away, the options are once more- many and varied.

The Aqua Life Centre offers a quality health club/gym and public pool, once more just a few hundred metres walk from the Oats St Station and the Archer St strip is fast becoming a central point for fine food in the suburb offering a smaller scaled more convenient alternative to the Albany Hwy cafe strip.

Friends from Sydney often comment on how affordable the real estate is in Carlisle and state that properties this close to Sydney and on the rail link would be 'twice as expensive' as what they are asking in Carlisle today.

I have lived in Carlisle for 13 years at three separate addresses, renting and then buying. I worked in Carlisle some 18 years ago and attended the Carlisle Tafe 23 years ago whilst living North of the River. Over that time I have seen a major shift in the class and type of resident living in Carlisle as more and more young professional couples and families stream into the area, attracted by the million dollar amenities, without the million dollar price tag.
