Orange

"Very friendly"

I too bought a house in East Orange and have never regretted it. I am sensible with security as there are still some low lifes living in the area who will pinch anything, but overall I love it. Great value for money, nice friendly people in my street. Good shopping and everything only 5 minutes away. I moved here from Mudgee and what a difference!

Great for

  • Friendly people
  • Good value for money

Not great for

  • Crime rate is high, eg break ins and car theft, so be conscious of your security.

Who lives here?

  • Professionals
  • Tourists
  • Country Lovers

Sounds pretty good from what I've heard. I am looking to move to Orange, is there anywhere I should rule out in regards to unsafe areas. Eg is there housing commission or well known crime areas in Orange?

avoid behind the industrial area (bunnings, BCF etc) there is trouble there but other than that orange is a lovely place if u have young children Alburt street child care is amazing

Hi Mud. Yep, love the facilities and the neighbours are great.

We were considering moving to Orange, but if crime is that much in the forefront of your mind, maybe we (retirees) should reconsider.

Mudgee

"Thanks Mud"

Glad that someone else agrees with me. I'm thinking that some of the great reviews are written by real estate agents. To the person who asked me which parts of Mudgee to avoid - none really. The crime rate is pretty low.

I got a notification of an any parts of mudgee to avoid question as well, but can't seem to find it. I'd say maybe avoid a couple of streets nearby the west end sporting complex. Bit daggy there.
