Warrnambool

"Wet and cold"

Moved for work from another Regional vic city. Warrnambool looks like it's stuck in the 90s. Shops and the town are Run down and dirty looking, a coat of paint and a clean would help. People are friendly tho but house prices are out of control for what you get. Terrible road surfaces. Very depressing place. I've travelled alot and towns like broken hill in nsw for example are alot nicer and more vibrant them poor old warrnambool.

Haha what a joke . Bool has just had a huge refurbishment , its friendly unlike you and has a great coastline and great modern facilities one of few country towns population growing as folk discover its joys , pubs, festivals , outdoors .Summer visitors double its Ive been to Boring Hill and its the epitome of a crappy mining hole ! Youre a joke

'You're a joke'? Seriously? You don't sound too friendly yourself. I have lived here for years and Bill is correct. The 'refurbishment' was a huge letdown. A couple of statues in Liebig Street doesn't hide the aged, empty embarrassment that this place is.

Love to know where you hail from . Look around theres bogans and drinkers, smokers etc etc everywhere ! I grew up in Warrnambool & return fairly regularly so yea am defending my home town . People have no idea Im local but I always find their straightforward and yea friendly nature a breath of fresh air compared to good ol Melbourne . Are you aware Liebig St is no longer the main shopping area? Gateway ring a bell ? I stand by all my previous comments . Pretty sure locals cant be blamed for being mostly white and conservatives its called demographics or history . The environment around the City ( yes the govt decreed its so ) is amazing , faculties are great for a small town and the new structure of the old Main Street and the festivals reflect a growing sense of pride by the community ! Its not perfect at all as a realistic commentator previously pointed out in detail but it beats a lot of other Australian red dirt and dying country towns and if youre NOT a nitpicking snob and make an effort to get on they will accept and welcome you ( eventually .. its the same most small towns . Hey Im actually a lovely guy
