"Has its good points and not so good"
My experience in Cooma was not so bad. For a regional town it will surprise you you have all your shops that you would be used to finding in larger towns - owing mostly to the ski season. The town is neat and easy to get around. Seemed to have the small country town mentality going on a little bit but it wasnt so bad.
Great for
- Peaceful and nice scenery in winter
- Good value houses
- Decent shopping for a small town
Not great for
- Gets swamped with annoying disrespectful city types in winter
- Can get old with people waiting around for 'when winter comes'
- All work is locked down by people that know someone that knows someone

"coastal living average"
The lake in my opinion is nicer than Lake Maquearie and more natural looking. However it does suffer from the algae in the weed smelling, this is however being improved by the local council and has made a difference. Walking trail is nice and you will not get such a thing in Lake Maquarie only peoples back yards with boats in the way.

- Has a nice lake epsecially with the regeneration going on
- Great for sports lovers
Not great for
- Lack of clubs to go to unless you travel a while
- Alot of typical labourer types
- Houses are mostly ready for wrecking
- A lot of retirees
- Public Transport
- A lot of weirdos in the national park
- Barking dogs everywhere
Who lives here?
- Singles
- Families with kids
"Close to the water not so far from shops"
Not a bad town for those who want to get away from the city but might not have the budget for higher priced locations
Great for
- Near the water for boating or fishing
Not great for
- Some of the people are honestly not good.
- How the whole place looks squashed in!
- The pot holes in the roads
- The Teenagers
