Delaneys Creek

"Desert Island"

If you've ever dreamed of living on a desert island cut off from the rest of the world this is the place for you.
No shops , no public transport ,nothing at all.
Might suit retirees but definately not a place for families or singles.
Decent facilities are half an hour away in Caboolture

Great for

  • Isolation

Not great for

  • Daguilar Highway is a killer

Who lives here?

I would like to correct and update these comments. Having lived happily with my family, and my children now at uni and growing up in Delaney's Creek, I can say that the primary school is excellent. There were always buses and now more, going to Caboolture along the D'Aguilar Highway which has no more accidents than any other Queensland highway. Woodford close by has Woolworths and IGA Supa Store for shopping. Facilities include a well equipped and patroned gym, sports community, public hall, cafes, small businesses. Two hotels and more than a few motels, as The Woodford Folk Festival attracts thousands of people every year for that event. D'Aguilar and Delaney's Creek benefit from this tourist attraction as it is in the same local area. The Mt Mee Scenic Drive passes through Delaney's Creek because it has beautiful scenery. It also has the necessary facilities that make it a perfect place to live.

"Its Obvious"

That we have an agent/developer on here talking the place up in an effort to justify their overpriced estates in the area.
I notice that no-one has mentioned that there is no work in the area or that the main feature of Woodford is the maximum security prison that is lit up like the Wacca at night.
20 mins to Caboolture? That only applies if there are no crashes or horse floats on the goat track that has been deemed fit to call a highway.
The fact that the police force has recently tripled must say something about crime in the area.
All in all Scoey you can keep it.

Not great for

  • No petrol station
  • Limited takeaway
  • Lack of Public Transport
  • Restaurants open at night
  • Woolworths

It is easy to triple the police force here when there was originally only one officer here. Seriously If you really don't like the place no one is asking you to be here. The residents don't need neighbors like you if this is the way you see the town. Like most places around Brisbane many people do comute but you will find that anywhere, I know people that comute to Brisbane from Kilcoy and Maleny, so what is the difference. Please take your lack of respect and intolerence to another town. Thankyou

Bori, just from my point of view, I am neither an agent nor a developer. I am proud of this wonderful place I call home!!!

Granted public transport is poor with only 2 bus services a day into Caboolture but the town has much improved since Bori caught one.

Mate, I am no developer. I live here and love it. Your 'review' is so wide of the mark its not funny. The only thing obvious is the fact that you're simply trolling. The reason why though completely escapes me.
You complain about no work but then list Woolworths as being a con? One of the larger employers of locals?
The highway is fine and the commute to Caboolture is consistently 20 minutes, which will likely be some a bit quicker/easier with the new upgraded section and overtaking lane.
Lastly, with regards to crime, check out QLD polices website and look at thier crime map. Instead of speculating about why we've recently gone from a one officer town to three check out the actual crime (or lack thereof) yourself. Woodford is growing, as towns grow, things like their police stations and schools etc are upgraded and are given more resources. It's what happens.

Actually forget all of what I just said. I'm more than happy for you to hold your narrow and myopic view of the town I call home if it means you stay away.

Agree completely scoey. Our family of 4 love this place. I suspect Bori has other agendas.

"Dump"

No public transport to speak of.The new shopping centre is always packed and prices are high. If you don't like pubs there's nothing to do. It might be alright if you work at the jail but if not it's just a forgotten back water miles from anywhere.

Not great for

  • Limited takeaway
  • No petrol station

Bori - there is only one thing to say - if you don't like it why don't you move? Are you trying to sell a house? Because you certainly are not helping its sale by your posts. I am thankful you're not the average person living in this community. Otherwise, heck this would be a miserable place to live and its quite the opposite!!!

Here is yet another attacking comment from a reviewer that thinks its okay to attack and austracise. Its easy to see that the locals like it their way or no way at all. If you arent like them, theyll try to run you out of town. Amazing things can happen with diversity. This person doesnt tollerate anything that is different. Why would anyone be told to move due to a different opinion unless there is a bully behind the comment.
