"Street of units"
Two big gated communities in this St side by side, both have older style townhouses in them. I’m not sure what is worse the noise and fumes from the highway that never stop at night or the problematic neighbours with problem case after problem case something and going from these places. Way too many times have I heard one of these units being destroyed by some idiot or the problem couples that come and go with their various issues that are not exactly quiet. I only end up here when I run out of money and I believe its the same for many others. Just a good case that the govt. needs to get their priorities in order to stop this collection of low-income people in the same place and leave this what was once nice area there for the actual residents.
"Overcrowded and Lacking opportunity"
I will describe Springwood as the poor mans jail for Brisbane. The suburb sits right on one of the busiest sections of the Brisbane/GC highway and I can smell strong exhaust fumes through my window night and day. There is a high amount of hooliganism when it comes to young people and vehicles its just at a level thats something else. They actually come here to perform their carry on nonsense at night so be careful out driving. There are little to no employment opportunites and one of my saddest moments is sitting on a bus every weekday at 6am (which is the second bus that comes to my stop because the first one is always full for that route that time of day) and seeing the highway Northbound packed to the gills with traffic that is moving at a crawl. Allow 90 minutes to travel to work if you live here. The crowd is always from logan to Mt gravatt and once you get outrside of that the traffic will start to move again. There are some crowded suburbs in brisbane but this one is a cut above them. Constant roadworks that have been ongoing since they finished the 'improvments' which has brought the sight of a concrete jungle to the area. Overall quality of life is much better Brisbanewide once you leave this area.
