Thornleigh

"For people who settle for less"

The fact that a resident has to mention as features of Thornleigh " home to the brick pit and corporate McDonald's" says it all.

No-one sensible dreams of living in Thornleigh. It's a desperately average suburban non-entity.
If that's your thing, then great, but the desires and aspirations of most Australian are far higher.

Killara

"Bubble of self congratulation"

Boring, safe, conservative, leafy. The sort of place the neighbours start to gossip disapprovingly when you don't mow the lawn every week.

Killara is very uncool. It's just standard suburbia. A long way from the city and inner urban cool areas.
The types keen on Killara are elderly people and families keen to access the (free) good local public schools.

Local residents live in a bubble of delusion about the attractiveness of Killara. It's not 1970. Wealthy North Shore buyers shifted their focus to to areas closer to the CBD, like Mosman, Northbridge, Nth Sydney, etc

The property market has spoken. Since 1970 Killara property prices have fallen well behind the lower North Shore areas. They are in much greater demand as they are cooler, livelier and closer to the city.

Northbridge

"Great suburb and location"

If you can afford Northbridge then you already know about it, and why it's so popular among the wealthy.
Way out of the price range of nearly all people.

An odd comment. Dinesh is a strange individual who loves to dunk on suburbs where people who have spurned him in the past live. He is very proud to live in sleepy Northbridge. Too bad he couldnt afford Mosman.

Mosman is over rated. Ive been living here a while. Too much traffic. Whilst I Ann walkable to the balmoral beach. If you dont live near Mosman village and cant walk to. Balmoral, I dont know what you are paying for. It seems that Northbridge is better value for money compared to Mosman. Like I said unless you live near the shops not sure what youre paying for. Northbridge shops has a lot of older people I did not see anyone below 60 today at the local shops.

Lisarow

"Mediocre"

99% of people in NSW have no clue where Lisarow is. It's one of those areas that is in the middle of nowhere, but residents are way too keen to justify their decision to move there.
It's basically a rural community slowly moving to urbanisation. Lots of cheap medium density accommodation is, and will be, built.

If you think the sad town of Gosford is too expensive or bustling, then Lisarow is for you.
Property prices, being a function of housing demand for an area. back up this assessment.

What a stupid post Dinesh. Have you ever been to Lisarow?

saras24

Is it a bad thing if 99% of people haven't heard of Lisarow?? Obviously not what you're looking for but we love the clean, friendly safe neighbourhood for our family. Terrigal, Erina and Tuggerah are 15 mins away... yes we're happy in 'mediocre' Lisarow thanks.

Written by a idiot. Please disregard Dinesh's pointless and ill informed post.

Moronic comment... obviously has only driven down the Pacific Hwy through the commercial and semi-rural parts if even that... is currently ranked 11th best suburb in Sydney (Greater) Region for a reason... beautiful location.

"For those that have given up"

Remote community for retirees and bogans. Spread out with little community or centre.
But hey, it's not that far to the beach.

Villawood

"Acceptable first home location"

Villawood is a place where people settle temporarily and then try to get out as they realize it's in the middle of suburban wasteland with little to recommend it in lifestyle, natural beauty, convenience, quality schools or safety. It's cheap for a reason.
