Lower Chittering

"Not as good as its made out to be"

Where does one start. Well the weather will get to you during the summer with those easterlies blowing a gale and the constant over 40 deg heat, and evaporative air-conditioning is absolutely useless.
The countryside is dry and barren so dust is a constant battle.
The blowflies and bush flies will drive you absolutely crazy, and you have to get your house checked every year against termites as they are rampant around these parts.
No public transport so you need a car to get to a major suburb to do your shopping.
There is a local supermarket, but you'll use it for emergencies only as it is expensive and hard to find fresh produce.
Nowhere locally to go out for dinner unless you get take away from the local road house, so you've got a 45min to 1 hr drive to a major suburb.
We have a bakery, but food is average and very expensive.
Town water if you have it is highly calcified and tastes horrible.
Broadband is very limited depending on where you live and adsl is available right in town but elsewhere it is only available via satellite and if you can't afford that then its dialup.
There is a medical centre but only 1 GP available and they are closed on a Friday, so any emergencies is the hospital in Midland or Joondalup both a 45 min drive.
Only a primary school in town so high school is via a bus service from town or parents take their kids to the suburbs'
Gas only available in bottles and expensive from local supplier.
Power yes but be prepared for quite a few of power outages during summer.
If you need to use your mobile, well it is very limited and I mean limited, in the area.
Not a very good place for kids as apart from local primary school for kids, there really is nothing for kids or teenagers to do in town except get into mischief.
Before buying and moving into town, you really need to do your homework, as once your here it can take quite a while to sell.
