Gulmarrad

"Gulmarrad is great"

Quiet, peaceful, semi-rural setting with one acre blocks surrounded by abundant birdlife and the local kangaroos.

Only 15 - 20 minutes drive to the beautiful unspoiled beaches of Yamba, Angourie and Brooms Head. Grafton is a 50 minute drive away with a great new shopping centre. It's only 2 hours drive to Byron Bay and 2 1/2 hours drive to the Gold Coast / Brisbane. For boaties / fisherman the beautiful Clarence River is only 5 minutes away.

A great spot for those who love the quiet life and wide open spaces but not too far from shops, schools, pubs, clubs.

People are friendly and relaxed.

Yes this is all true, except the comment about grafton being 50mins away, i dont know how fast you drive but keeping to legal limits each time takes me exactly 30mins. Also i come from byron and go back there all the time and it takes exactly 1.5hours. So it is a perfect central location. I just love the local beaches round here, and the national park thats inland from sandon river.
We have a boat and its just perfect for wake boarding and fishing. we love it here!!

It takes us 50 minutes to drive to Grafton because we like to go the slower scenic way, eg. via Brushgrove / Cowper.

Could you please tell me does it flood often? Are the schools good? What is the crime rate like please?

Gulmarrad has a primary school. If you want a high school there is one in nearby Maclean. Gulmarrad does not flood but nearby Maclean may on occasion as it's by the Clarence River. There is no crime in Gulmarrad at all.

Yamba

"Yamba"

The beautiful beachside town of Yamba is now going to be spoilt by the construction of a 115 seat McDonalds restaurant with Drive-Thru at 7 Treelands Drive, Yamba.

4,000 people petitioned and wrote to the local Council saying they were against it but they approved it anyway. What a shame. I hope all visitors to Yamba will continue to support the local cafes and eateries and ignore this ugly American food giant.

It's a great convenience for families on a budget and won't detract from those wanting to go and relax at a restaurant or cafe in Yamba. Looks great and can't wait to go next time we are over there.
