Tanah Merah

"Safe, quite and close to everything"

I've lived in Tanah Merah more than once as a child and as an adult and always loved it. Plenty of little cafe's/restaurants and corner stores close by. Tanah Merah is filled with a lot great parks, childcare centers and close to many private and public schools. The Hyperdome shopping center is also very close which is filled with everything you need and free parking (all one story though, so be ready to either walk from one end to the other or drive to the entrance you need). Such different surroundings in a small area, there are homes along the HWY but with high walls to protect from noise, although if you're not ok with that, plenty of homes away from it all in quite back streets on acreage or hills with beautiful views surrounded by trees, or even just a normal sized lot close to the shopping center, whatever you prefer. Being right in the middle with easy access to either Brisbane and the Gold coast.

Renting is about $300-$500. Buying can be anywhere from $200,000 to $1,000,000 with old and new townhouses, homes, and acreage. Pretty quite and filled with a lot of families, young and old. I don't hear parties from where I am and aren't even disturbed by people walking past and we're right near a bus stop and main road. The neighbours aren't the borrowing sugar type (unless you are and then they'll be one back), but usually more keeping to themselves. There might be one rev head that drives past quickly (if you're near a main road), but otherwise you'll feel safe walking around with the kids, going to the parks or shops with a wide range of people living here and overall a lovely place.
