"A suburb of Brisbane"
I agree with ihatetraffic, having sold at a loss and enduring the mamoth task of co-ordinating the whole family around getting to and from work, it just got too much.
No one else to blame for paying too much, but I would do things differently now in hindsight. There are trains close by but anyone who has to use them would be able to tell you that it is no fun pushing and shoving for a seat or to get on them.
The suburb is lovely on weekends, the parks are nice, the shopping centre is clean and there is a petrol station open at convenient hours, unfortunately for us the Monday to Friday took so much out of us that by the time the weekend rolled around we were exhausted.
It was a struggle for us to find a daycare with vacancies and at one stage we had 2 children in 2 different daycare centres.
It is not such a bad idea to spend sometime in an area before committing to buy if you are not familiar with all the pro's and con's, a lesson learnt.
I certainly will be scrutinising a lot more in the future before I sign on the dotted line anywhere regardless of what anyone else has to say.
Great for
- Convenient basic shopping
- Close to a good golf course
- Quiet and safe
Not great for
- Traffic is a big big problem
- Peak hour traffic on Samford Road
- Could be improved with more footpaths
- Has its good and bad parts
- Better children's play equipment in parks would be welcome!
- Public transport good, not great

you have rated the suburb according to your own mistakes. almost all of the negatives you have described have nothing to do with the suburb and everything to do with your personal situation. illogical. I guess thats why you have found support from the hater.
Sorry to hear your bad experience with this suburb, it is always stressful when someone loses money on a home. Hopefully where ever you have gone to now will give you more family time and you have better luck with your next house. I hope you dont end up subjected to any ridicul for your review, it sounds like you have had a hard enough time of late as is. All the best.
