A bit about myself and my experiences in Mandurah/Halls Head. I've lived here for nearly 17 years, and travelled all around the world, and everytime I come back to Mandurah, I say to myself "arn't I lucky?!" Mandurah is laid back and with Halls Head being pretty much self sufficient (with all types of shops and facilities), it offers a lifestyle for everyone (you don't even have to leave from our island if you don't want to). With the construction of a proper CBD, you could be working in your office, knock off at 5.00pm, get on your bike and ride to the beach in 5 mins and be swimming or laying on the beach (isn't that great?, what other city offers that!)

Halls Head is located to the west of the Central Business District, which is currently expanding and improving with increased infrastructure, offices and cafes. Halls Head, the largest suburb of Mandurah, it is often separated into at least two categories by locals, Old Halls Head and 'Seascapes/New Halls Head/"Near the highschool"'. With Old Halls to the north of Peelwood Parade, and 'Seascapes/New Halls Head/"Near the highschool" to the south. Old Halls Head has been seen as the elite part of Mandurah for a long time, with many larger homes on the waterfront (canal, beach and estuary front) and established, extremely affordable and great value family size homes just sitting back from the water that surrounds Halls Head to the West, North and East. 'Seascapes/New Halls Head' is affordable, though the quality of the housing is quite poor and the visual attractiveness is not fantastic, it is a good area for first home buyers who wish to be close to Mandurah and all the facilities. The downside of Halls Head is that the city centre that is one of the main entry/exit points for Halls Head, is stricken with traffic problems, as the road system is not currently at its best. For a few years this problem will stick, meaning that the value of property within Halls Head will continue to stay affordable, although with the plans currently created by the City of Mandurah, traffic flow will be improved and Halls Head will be seen as a lovely, peaceful, attractive place to reside again. A major drawcard for Halls Head is the water, Halls Head is surrounded by water, and its great, its peaceful and its very relaxing. It is fantastic arriving into your suburb (which is apart of an island) entering over a bridge with lovely expanses of water to either side. What other suburbs in Australia offer what Halls Head does? Not many, and for the price it would be extremely difficult to find any city or large town in Australia that can offer what the suburb of Halls Head does (which is the size of a town as it is, around 10,000 people). When looking at purchasing in Mandurah, consider Halls Head and do your research, you don't just want to end up in a normal suburb, you want something special. Halls Head offers to all people with all amounts of money, from first home buyers to multi-millionaires, whoever you are you'll fit in. Us Halls Head locals look forward to all new residents!
