It depends on which method of transport you decide to take. If you take the train it generally takes about 15 minutes to drive from Halls Head to the Train Station (including parking and walking onto the train from the car park). Then it takes approximately 45 minutes by train into the Perth CBD. So you could expect a trip to take around 1 hour. Driving by car is fairly similar in time, unless you are driving in peak hour, then your traveling times can blow out quite a bit.

Thanks for the response HallsHead. We are emigrating from Scotland to WA in the coming months and trying to settle on a location to land in. Halls Head looks ideal but I'm assuming that I'm most likely to find work in the city, hence the question. Spent the last five years commuting 2 - 2.5 hours every day so ideally looking for a shorter commute.

Oh that is great, if you have anymore questions, fire away. I could not imagine commuting 2-2.5hrs a day! In terms of commuting, Mandurah (and its suburbs) are considered a reasonable journey from the City by some Perth people. Most people in Perth commute about half an hour to 45 minutes, but commuting from Mandurah is no real stretch, especially if you are catching the train it's a breeze. :)
