Reedy Creek

"A suburb close to everything in a bush setting"

Reedy Creek is west of the M1 near Burleigh and Varsity Lakes. Most of the suburb is made up of 3 housing estates that all join each other. The houses tend to be larger and block sizes tend to be larger than most new estates.

It's very convenient to Burleigh heads, Varsity and Robina and has an direct easy access to the M1, Varsity train station is a 5 minute drive away, trains run every 15 minutes to Brisbane during peak times.

The suburb has 3 private colleges, 2 of which have high enrolment numbers and can cause heavy traffic around school drop off times. 2 of the Christian schools are among some of the highest rating schools on the Gold Coast. The state school is Clover Hill at Mudgeeraba that is closed for enrolments for anyone out of catchment and has a good reputation.

The streets of the new estates are clean, and have great street appeal. The suburb has a higher percentage of owner occupiers than the Gold Coast average, and this includes the older town houses that surround the private schools that tend to have higher renters than the free standing houses

Cons are the traffic around school drop off (has got much better over the years with new roads opening)

There is no state high school close

The M1 needs an urgent upgrade to 3 lanes, the highway doesn't flow well until Mudgeeraba

Crime seems very low and there is limited hooning in the area, most people have pride living here

Great for

  • Central to everywhere, with good public transport.
  • Schools, medical, shopping and great access to everything else.
  • Green and close to nature.
  • Safe friendly neighbourhood

Not great for

  • M1 needs upgrading
  • Driving in the suburb at school times. For a short period twice a day, traffic is shocking.

Who lives here?

  • Professionals
  • Families with kids
  • Beach Lovers

Isn't that where the dog abuser Brett Simpson lives?
